What would be the ramifications politically, theologically and philosophically if it was proven that some form of Panpsychism is what explains consciousness?
>>
I don't think anything would change. What the fuck am I supposed to do with the information that the chair I'm sitting my ass on right now is conscious? I'm still going to sit in this chair, otherwise I'd just be sitting or standing on the floor that's conscious anyways. Pajeets would still be making shrines to toilets regardless too.

>the real possibility of consciousness not being confined to the brain wouldn't change anything

It wouldn't because in practical terms nothing would change. Obviously consciousness would exist within some kind of spectrum, and that you would ultimately still be effectively dead if someone cut your brain out of your head. Inanimate objects being conscious wouldn't change the fact that they're inanimate objects etc
