Judaism's understanding of Man's relationship with God is very different from the other Abrahamic religions. Their Covenant is between them and God only. It's not so universal as Christianity or Islam. So when the Torah says not to eat pork because it's unclean, that's a rule for them and not really applicable to gentiles, whereas Islam views that as a universal rule for all mankind and an existential threat if anyone out there doesn't follow it.
It's an arab honor/shame culture thing. It's not sufficient that they just not eat pork, others must also know that their honor hasn't been stained by the mere suggestion they've consumed pork (as loudly and in front of as many witnesses as possible)
