Which historical figure born before 1700 would have most likely gotten into skateboarding and thus been capable of a "sick kickflip?" My opinion is that it would be the Emperor Justinian, given his history of political irrelevance, whore wife and name.

Mother Teresa
>>18440447I bet the Khan wouldn't have died that stupid death if he chose skateboards over horses
Joan of Arc would have been a skater girl
>>18440447This is the kind of thread I come into this shithole of a board for>>18440924I can see her in my mind's eye
>>18440447Catullus would have been huge on the aesthetic while Pliny is a terminal hater. I think Romans as a whole would be fascinated with “grinding” but have a racial inability to kickflip. That’s more Gallic.
>>18440447I'd say Henry VIIIAll the pressure was on his big brother when he was young, and he loved to party like an animal. Definitely the kind to bring girls around and impress them with his mad skills
>>18441415Young Chad Henry would be a skater fer shure. We picture him as this fat slob but he was quite the athlete when young and his physical decline started with a serious injury from jousting.
>>18441364Ovid would have written a long poetic treatise on skating to impress chicks
>>18440447Doubtful that it would be Justinian. I'd bet Commodus would absolutely be into shredding in the Coliseum.
>>18440447I has already been substanciated that Jesus would have been an insane trickster, but in my mind, the prophet muhammad would have picked skateboarding in his 40s and shown some great skill for his age, fitting in at 50 with the 9yo crowd at medina's skatepark

>>18441415>>18441448God, could you imagine the sick tricks between Henry and Francis at the Field of the Cloth of Gold?
>>18441455>>18441364While I don't doubt that the Romans would be fascinated by the skateboard aesthetic, I have to express doubt at the quality of their game. Historically, Romans have always had trouble with vehicles that aren't powered by their own two feet; they never had especially prominent cavalry, nor naval expertise. I think Hannibal would have styled on the Romans for years with his Phoenician tricks. I think the Romans would find skateboarding to be "sick nasty" but never have any lasting success in minting new techniques.Awesome skate parks, though. Excellent, even. Romans would have likely invented the quarter-pipe.

>>18440447I don't know much about Chinese history, but with the skatepark opportunities of China, there will have to be at least one of them
>>18442083Romans could skate vert but would never quite get street.
>>18442126I have no doubt that Bao Zheng would have been an incredible skater.
Francois Villon, criminal and poet, would have led a pack of street skaters in 15th century Paris.
>>18442126Zhuangzi would have been a rad skater (or a surfer if he lived close to the sea)
The Inca never had wheeled vehicles but used wheels on toys and they were exceptionally skilled at stonemasons. I can visualize epic Inca skateparks used for sick tricks as part of sacred ceremonies.
