I think the paternal ancestors traveled mainly as a group of men during a quite short period of time from Siberia to close to Baltic. Then they stayed there quite some time, and eventually expanded to Finland. There they encountered somekind Germanic population and Saami people, and assimilated them.So Finns having more Siberian ancestry than for example Estonians and Balts likely originate from mixing with the Saami.
The Balts are a mystery to me. They have a high proportion of haplogroup N and almost no Nganasan admixture (except for 2% among Estonians). Latvians and Lithuanians are simply 75% Baltic Bronze Age and 25% Greek Bronze Age admixture, along with other Germanic admixtures, etc. Why so much Haplogroup N and so little autosomal admixture?

Considering Siberians / proto finnic-ugrics had metal before northern europeans and their lifestyle involved navigating the waterways of nowday russia, It's most likely, some group of them, formed a sort of a warrior nation and went raiding and pillaging the west, settling the new lands.Some even consider the finnic myths of kalevala, the story of proto finns/estonians/karelians moving in and fighting the sami in the north.Basically Baltic Finns did what the people living in these areas are still doing, just that now they call themselves Russians.
