How would the next 500 years have gone if the Americas didn't exist and Columbus reached a much closer Asia?
>>18449670Spain & Western Europe gets utterly nerfed as they don't have huge continental possessions aiding their population & economic growth. There's absolutely no way Spics & Hues can do the same things they did in Americas in China or Japan.
if Spain gets nerfed Europe falls to the islamic invasion 500 years earlierNo renaissance, no enlightenment, no industrial revolution, just stagnation in a cousin fucking medieval theocracy
>>18449733>stagnation in a cousin fucking medieval theocracy>contingent on SPAIN getting nerfed
>>18449735Spain kept it out of Europe until now
If europe doesn't expand into america, it would probably fight massive wars to expand into asia and africa instead. I could imagine the middle east becoming european (or at least christian). Africa is more iffy since the climate is really not conducive for european settling. South africa might have been settled earlier and more thoroughly though.
>>18449754Oh, and also more and earlier european settlement of the eurasian steppes, and not only by russians (if the tzars allow it, which history they did.)
>>18449670Europe would be broke most likely and famine would set in. Finding the Americas helped Spain/Portugal financially through the silver/gold mines in South America. The potato/corn/other NA crops saved most of Europe, especially UK from starvation. Also without the silver from south america Europe has nothing China needs.
>Europe would be brokeEuropean powers without any colonies whatsoever beat the ottomans, the probably strongest noneuropean power west of china. This talk of europe only being strong because of colonies is cope. Europe had colonies because it was advanced and powerful, not the other way round.
>>18449764>Euro power didn't have colonies in 1774>history
>>18449764The free gold and silver helped though
>>18449766>Austrian colonies>>18449767Did it? Gold and silver have basically no practical value in an early modern context, they are currencies. If the spanish get free gold, it means value goes from the other holders of gold in europe to them, but it doesn't create new value. And most of what europe traded for oversees, like from china and india, was luxury goods with no practical value. What did actually benefit europe was north american food and cotton, and indeed new crops (that benefitted noneuropean powers too though). Still, powers that had no colonies and no sovereign access to trade could hold their own against the colonial powers, showing that the influence wasn't really that big.So I repeat my point, a europe that had to concentrate on the old world would have conquered vast areas of it from the muslims. Much like russia conquered the steppes, while being one of the most backwards area of europe.
>>18449670>no potatoeskind of bleak
>>18449764European powers beat the Osman BECAUSE of wealth and resources from colonies, and even as far as WW1 it took the combined might of France Italy and Britain to beat them
>>18449956>WW1 it took the combined might of France Italy and Britain to beat themYou don't actually believe that do you?
>>18449670Colombus crew is the first to create hapa japs, while he thinks he's in India but he's actually in Shikoku lmao.
>>18449670no corn or potatoes means europe still suffers frequent faminessea levels are much lower and its possible mankind has never existed in the first place
>>18449679The smallpox crap is fake.
>>18449981Europe and Japan would have certainly developed a very close relationship.
>>18449981>japan turns into hapa latin america aka the philippines
>>18450739Nobody's talking about the smallpox crap, faggot.
