The average Japanese was wealthier than the average American and their companies were buckbreaking western ones. What went wrong?

The asset bubble burst, then came the Plaza Accords.
The Lost Decade became the Lost Decades and the Japanese economy has been in a slump to this very day.
Ultimately everything can be traced back to them adopting an economic system that doesn’t work. Funny how crapitalism consistently shits the bed yet it never gets called a failure like Communism. Curious.
Anyways, watch/read this to learn more.

In the Communist Bloc housing, healthcare, education and employment were guaranteed. You got to go on vacation in the Adriatic Sea in sunny Yugoslavia and if you were good you got a nice dacha to spend the summers in as a gift.
Meanwhile in Japan you study your ass off to get into the hyper competitive Tokyo University then you become a salaryman who has to get shitfaced with his boss after spending all day at the office even thought you finished your work hours ago. Can’t afford being seen as lazy! Your reward for all this? You barely get to afford a shoebox apartment in the city, your wife hasn’t had sex with you since she popped out little Taro. At least you’ll get to enjoy your retirement right?
Wrong, you’ll die young of karoshi. KEK
And that’s IF you’re lucky. If your parents can’t afford tuition and your grades weren’t good enough to net you a full ride scholarship then you’re doomed to live out your life as a wagie, you’ll be exploited the fuck out of by a black company to the point that you WISH you worked in a Chinese sweatshop.
If the pressure becomes too much you can always become a hikkikomori, become a herbivore man and give up on dating entirely. But what happens when your parents die and they don’t support you anymore? The lights go out, you avoid your creditors and landlord like the plague and you die of kodokushi, the police finding your rotting corpse days later when the neighbors start complaining about the smell.
Such is life in the land of the rising sun.

wow mongolia is one of the capitals of death to overwork huh? like overwork in the fields or what
>>

Modern Mongolia is incredibly urbanized. 50% of their entire population live in the capital. There are wild people out in the fields (they fight for their meals) but by and large the average Mongolian is a city slicker now. Genghis Wept.
