Does morality exist as either something which can be crafted logically or understood transcedentally, or is it just made up? Can an irreligious person actually be moral?
>>18458792Can a religious person really not be immoral?
>>18458805What an obtuse question to ask. Go away.
>>18458792Believing in God (following His commands) is morality. Can an antichrist be moral? No.
>>18458792From an irreligious perspective, there is no universal morality, but rather a common code that everyone agrees to follow for the sake of maintaining a society that is pleasant to live in. You agree to follow the rules both because you want to see the pleasant society flourish and because you will likely not be allowed to take part in it if you don't.
there is no such thing as universal morality , unless through invoking God, whose morality is by definition objective morality
>>18458792The word morality exists, so it points to something observable and replicable. But like love, some retards may understand these words as eternal representatives of metaphysical concepts, because they do not understand that the properties enunciated by the word must be instanciated in real life for the word to have meaning. Just like numbers are just fancy mind object until you apply them in the correct context of real life.
>>18458792Internal morality is literally just empathy, putting yourself in the other persons shoes. It's not even that deep or methodical. General morality is the the general consensus of the same thing across broader society. Laws are the state or collective imposition of these feelings, backed by force. Morality is a real thing but it's not 'objective' in the colloquial sense of the word and it isn't exactly 'transcendental'. It does have a logic to it though, which I just explained. It's pretty insane that religitards can't even conceive of having any morality that isn't spoonfed into their brains like retards. I would actually argue that religious people are less moral because they aren't following principles based on their own sense of empathy and reason but instead just follow rules like stupid zombies.
