Then, around late 1800's, both countries were supporting the early Zionist movement and in WWI both countries sent soldiers to take part in the Palestinian Campaign using flags with the Star of David. Not to mention both countries had "nationalistic" narratives which referred to the Anglo Saxon race as part of lost tribes of Israel, which were required to assist Jews, "the other side of the family" in retaking the Holy Land. Much of the latter 20th century led to the hollowing of Anglo manufacturing which is why there is such a deep cultural rot, because literally nothing is made in Anglo countries now and Jews largely profited from this.
