>Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
Everything Marx said here can be applied to Social Media. Social Media is the new opium of the masses because it gives retards a safe space to be doomers while serving no threat to the status quo. It's the "opium of the masses" that Marx was warning about. Thankfully Tankies are terminally online themselves so they're too retarded to recognize that they're being duped by the same principles that their Ashkenazi-German God warned them about.

im 18 and this is deep
>>

Religion is a tool to keep the poor from eating the rich which is why (serious) Marxists always despise it.
>>
>>18460552
nope, even if there was zero rich the poor would still have their own religions, they have no one but themselves to blame
>>
>>18460544
Not just social media, consoomerism in general keeps people in line.
>>
>>18460630
Literally impossible.
>>

>>18460552
you don't get it his criticisim is that religion has no regard for real suffering because it is spiritual and spits on material reality, and basically the people that go to religion because they suffer are being told that their suffering doesn't matter they shouldn't do anything about it and instead just daydream about some fake made up shit, just like how so many chinks were addicted to opium that they didn't do anything about the british and whatever cracker nation plundering them
>>

Social Media acts more like religion in Marx' context because his point was that religion gave people who were suffering a platform for expressing their woes in a way that made them impotent because all their problems were promised to be solved spiritually.
>>

How’d Marxists go from this to being the greatest defenders/allies of Islamists?
>>
>>18461066
Most Muslims are strongly anti-communist and have been anti-communist since the Cold War
>>
Before social media boomers were the most doycipe eunucs in all of history.
>>
>>18461074
Boomers committed more crime than Zoomers do. They were a much bigger threat to the status quo. Zoomers are all just sad impotent losers by comparison
>>
>>18461078
They committed crime for sportball or because they were junkies, they never challenged the power, they never overturned anything.
>>
>>18461082
>they never challenged the power, they never overturned anything
They literally run the world now. They changed everything, and they made all the drugs they were on legal too. Zoomers got nothing on Boomers, they don't even have anything on Gen X
>>
>>18461085
They run thing simply because of inheritance, gen x was far more impactful, although they did more bad than good.

That's right. I'd add that Marx also developed his theory from Feuerbach who believed religion was a projection of human ideals (justice, beauty, power, love, perfection, etc.) onto a seperate, divine realm which appears independent and superior to people. Likewise workers produce goods but they're split off from the products of their labor and they come back to appear as possessing certain human attributes. You see this in commercial advertising all the time, like how a pickup truck can embody masculinity or "independence."

Right yean and they consume communism online through symbols and historical figures treated as icons while becoming entranced by the spectacle of Chinese cyberpunk cities.
>>
>>18461068
Sure, but I’m talking about the other way around. Marxists are staunch defenders of Islam and Islamist movements
