Why are civil wars always so fucking crazy?
>>18461352It never happened.
>>18461352civil wars are usually more vicious and insane than conventional wars because each side sees each other not merely as an enemy, but as a traitor led astray from within.
>>18461369It's because most of them aren't real and no physical evidence for battle of Stalingrad. The civil wars that happen like Russian revolution, Spanish and German revolution were jew led, psyops, and had a targeted purpose.
>>18461379haven't posted on this board in a long time up until tonight. Glad to see you're still around and kicking GDPschizo
>>18461386Capitalism is literally retards.
>>18461352You generally don’t get civil wars unless your society is polarized as fuck, which in turn means that all kinds of radical batshittery has far more room to spread than it normally would have.

>>18461352If the Republic did somehow win, what is the likely outcome? By which I mean what was the plan exactly post defeating the Nationalists for how Spain was to be run? How are you supposed to have some Spain that is a liberal democracy in some sense, that is also communist, that is also anarchist, that also allows Catalonia and Basque to go independent? I presume the idea is they just enter a second stage of the war or a Second Spanish Civil War, but was there any particular meaningfully agreed plan by the Republicans for how the country was supposed to be run if they won? Which group would probably come out on top if they did have to fight it out?
>>18461352Where is Portugal?
because of the breakdown of central authority you get lots of diverse groups emerging, choosing a side and sometimes switching sides or creating a new front, some of which are homegrown, others foreign funded, some foreign funded but then break free from their puppet strings, others homegrown but then plea to foreigners for assistance in desperation

>>18462013>By which I mean what was the plan exactly post defeating the Nationalists for how Spain was to be run?Same as before. Politicians believed that the 1936 coup wasn't fundamentally different from the 1932 Sanjurjada. >How are you supposed to have some Spain that is a liberal democracy in some sense,Fun fact: the Spanish government in July 1936 was a Liberal government. >that is also communist,Communists were a meme party until the civil war. They only got big because of Stalin's support after the war had started, and because they had the best discipline on the Republican side. But elections-wise, they only had won 17 seats out of more than 470.>that is also anarchist,Anarchists from CNT/FAI explicitly declined to participate in Republican elections. Everybody hated anarchists. >that also allows Catalonia and Basque to go independent? Why would they do that? Companys tried to proclaim a Catalan state in 1935 and was promptly arrested.
>>18462146>Everybody hated anarchists.>see the assassination of Antonio Cánovas del CastilloFor good reason.
>>18462013Probably another Civil War/Year of Lead down the line
>>18462022They removed the foreign supporters part from the Nigerian Civil War Wikipedia page because it used to show Israel supported both sides>I play both sides so I always come out on top>>18462017>ViriatosPortugal didn't support Nationalist Spain openly, but it allowed civilians and army personnel to volunteer, around 8 thousand men formed the Viriatos. Salazar also helped with logistics through Portugal, troop transport from Africa into Spain and weapon deals to arm the Nationalist militias.
>>18462013If the nationalist rebellion had fizzled out immediately, then things probably would have went forward rather normally with moderate republicans trying to appease working class and peasants enough to prevent them from going full commie. It could have worked, maybe, maybe not, but it wasn’t an instant new civil war situation, commies were still a small party at that point. Maybe they could do the same that Franco did with Carlists and Falangists, eg. just absorb and defang them. Now if republicans had won after a longer civil war, it probably would have got messier, as by that point Soviet-aligned politicians and officers were very tightly embedded in the system. Probably it would end up in a situation that resembles East Europe after WWII, eg. a short duration of very nominal democracy while communists accumulate power at insane pace and then just declare that we’re a communist state now.
