Did he genuinely believe everything that he preached?
>>18461561Oh so its ok when he says that there was a lost civilization of people that lived in ruled the world, everyone is in awe with big eyes and open ears, but when this other guy finds a book that confirms it hundreds of years earlier, were just going brutally murder him.
>>18461561These kind of people tend to buy their own grift, yes.
>>18461561Possibly. Though you can never know. He's probably one of the most interesting prophets, anyway.
>>18461561You know some Mormons believe that the reason he was killed when he was because he actually went back on all the crazy shit just before he died, and that was when God basically 'pulled his support' so to speak.
>>18461561There is no evidence that he didn't believe in his own teachings by the end of his life
>>18461561>>18461593they're both retards, but at least mormons are wholesome
No, he clearly didn’t believe any of it. He was a conman running a long con. At the end of his life Mormonism was a cover for a major counterfeiting operation, and a counterfeiter turned bounty hunter joined their operation with the objective of taking Smith in (there was a price on his head for counterfeiting) and Smith took him into his confidence and told him Mormonism was a sham.
He didn't, but I do.
>>18461561Doesn't matter; Mormons are the future of the white race.

>>18461727So are you going to name names?>>18462048>Immolate human victims>To their deity (singular)Holy shit I didn't realize people were this clueless about other people's.Also stop citing the slavery as socialism guy like he has authority.
>>18462549This video explains all of it (with sources) https://youtu.be/Dix4GdPWggk
Later in his "career" he dropped even the golden plates and just had "revelations" all the time (dozens per year), on even the smallest details of church politics, current US political climate or random doctrinal questions, he has a hotline to God on every minute question. And he translated texts he obviously can't read.Either he was genuinely completely insane or a conman.
>>18461561He got caught cheating on his wife and was like "uuuh, God told me about this magic new testament written by Jesus that says i can have multiple wives or something." He ran with it and formed a cult
>>18461561I doubt it, but maybe he was schizo enough to believe it. Who can ever say with these schizo types.
Considering bullshit like Egyptian papyrus he 'translated,' I think not. He was just a conman.
>>18461561It's very common for cult leaders to end up believing in their own lies. LRH did, Applewhite did, Koresh did, Asahara did, etc. I don't see why it would be any different for Smith.
>>18461561probably yes
>>18462773I know this will be on deaf ears but you should at least hear out a mormonoid opinion on the issue.I don't believe myself. But you should at leats hear them out.
