If you read Aurobindo's Savitri as well as Riencourt, De Chardin, Gopi Krishna etc's works on Kundalini (the rapturous religious experience/influence that all leading genius/mystical/prophetic minds all have in common; see "Pascal's Fire"); they're convinced that mankind is eventually going to harness and embrace this altogether higher consciousness than our current stage of being to the point where the worse aspects of human nature nature today simply hold no sway or appeal anymore.

and yeah, what you're saying is correct in terms of the inevitable corruption seeping in to any new movement so far. Aurobindo and Mirra Alfassa tried to set up a commune project to serve as the experimental testbed for this new 'Divine Life' (Auroville) and it seems to have stagnated and racked up the usual pedophilia/money-embezzling allegations that every cult does.

In a way, he and the other leading higher-consciousness figures like Gopi Krishna knew that would probably happen. The 'Supramental Being' (humans that have achieved permanent higher consciousness) in their words, will be as remote of a being and an even bigger leap forwards as current-day self-conscious man is/was to the other species of Great Ape.
The transcendence to unity upwards with the Godhead will happen when the cosmic super-intelligence guiding the evolution of life on earth that they perceived and that they became convinced existed wills it to happen. Simple as that (Keep in mind that they both came to these conclusions a life of Atheism/Agnosticism, then achieving samādhi.)

The best humans can do right now is achieve some basic steps towards it through experiencing it via samādhi and trying to help it along/accelerate it with the new world-religion that my first post described.
