ROCOR Council of Bishops, May 5th, meeting in Munich:On Saturday, 2 May, the Council of Bishops, having heard a report by Deacon Pavel Lisitsin, a cleric of the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe, resolved: to invoke God’s blessing upon the establishment of a charitable fund for the support of the clergy. On the same day, the Council considered the report of Bishop James of Sonora, chairman of the commission for the study of the life, legacy and veneration of the ever-memorable Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose). On the basis of this report, the following determination was made: 1) To receive the report; 2) Having recognised the righteous course of life of the ever-memorable Hieromonk Seraphim, to bless the process of preparing his ecclesiastical glorification among the ranks of our venerable Fathers; 3) To invoke God’s blessing upon the further work of the aforementioned commission under the chairmanship of His Grace Bishop James.Official Epistle from the Council of Bishops addressed to all the faithful of ROCOR:https://www.synod.com/synod/pdf/5epistleofthecouncilofbishops2026.pdfSynod minutes summary:https://www.synod.com/synod/eng2026/20260505_encommunique.html
he was gay
>>18462909It is not recorded anywhere that he identified as gay. He took part in homosexual acts while he was in his college atheist hedonist phase, along with orgies and drugs. Then he went through the new-age phenomenon, searching for meaning in far eastern religious studies. He finally healed by becoming a true Christian. He is the image of the American convert, coming out of the desert of meaninglessness in our society that rapes the soul, and becoming a true ascetic holy father, trampling the sinful passions.
>>18462919Bait used to be believable
>>18462923slander used to be higher effort
>founder of his monastery has multiple sexual abuse allegations raised against him by male monks shortly after Seraphim's death and is defrockedSeraphim knew, right? There's no way he didn't, realistically speaking
>>18462909no
Seraphim is a hubris name.
>>18462909Paul used to persecute and kill Christians. He redeemed himself.
>>18464890The founder of Seraphim's monastery (and one of Seraphim's closest friends) was outed for sexually abusing multiple male monks shortly after Seraphim's death. There is zero way he knew nothing about it
>>18464897I didn't know that. Then I don't know what to think. He seemed to be a real Christian, but is not ratting on him a terminal sin? Probably so idk
Why are all Orthodx Saints named Vyzwxkic of Latveria and are white bearded monks? At least the Catholic church has saints who look like real people with pronounceable names.
