How many of those "Germans" do you think were rather Germanized Czechs?
>>
>>18463961
It gets better:
>look up every "Czech" figure from the medieval and high medieval period
>they all speak German or Latin
>they all have German names in the primary sources
>they're writing letters about being friends and family with other Germans

Almost like "Czechia" is a modern invention grafted onto history.

Probably not a lot considering the Czechs lived under German rule for over a thousand years and all spoke, wrote and thought in German, but the very moment Nationalismâ„¢ was invented and a German monk came up with the modern Czech language and written language, based on some obscure Slavic dialect from an isolated farming community in Bohemia, they instantly adopted it as their native language.

The Hussites were also very well aware of who the Germans in their territory were, because their rebellion made some enclaves extinct, which would never be resettled by Germans to the same degree. The rebellion overall consolidated certain regions as Germans and others as Czech.

This Gay Race Communist delusion that people, before Nationalism, somehow had no idea of who they were, is completely ridiculous. German states also historically never forcefully assimilated other ethnicities. These things always happened very naturally in German states. They let the best naturally come to them.

It's not an invention. In fact it shows it's the opposite of an invention. But the Habsburger certainly did their part to fuck up the entire situation through blatant Anti-German policies to favor the ethnic minorities over the Germans.

Going by this logic Frederick "the Great" was French.

It's funny because some Slavs have similar delusions about Lithuanians, Albanians, Greeks or Romanians.
>they and their lands are secretly Slav xd

It's like Finland with Swedes.
>>
>>18464667
It goes even further in Finland as literally everyone, 100% of population, had Swedish names. From poorest farmhand to highest nobility. Just looking at names in church registers makes it look like there were no Finns in Finland at all.

Pretty sure pagan Prussians (Pruthenians) would have a different opinion in the matter, but sadly they're gone.

The Teutonic Order allowed them to keep their land. They were a rural backwater. Germans settled elsewhere. The Old Prussians went extinct, because plagues destroyed their farming communities and drove them to the cities. There they rapidly assimilated or died, because Medieveal cities had a high death rate and needed constant immigration from rural areas to stay alive or grow.. All of this was organic. Nothing was forced on them.

Actually almost zero.
Czechia was settled extensively from the middle ages all the way to the Victorian period in a process called Ostsiedlung. In most cases they were invited by the rulers themselves. Catherine the Great for example invited a lot of Germans which is where the Volga Germans came from. Poles and Czechs also did it a lot.
The reason they did this was because they themselves didn't have the technical expertise to properly exploit the resources there. This ranged from things like mining to even "basic" industries like textiles. The largely illiterate and uneducated Slavic peoples didn't know how to do it so they invited Germans who did. Look at maps of Germans in Eastern Europe and industry in Eastern Europe and more often than not they're 1:1 copies of each other.

Prussian continue to speak till 1700s (Cuman too)

Does the cultural (not linguistic) difference between Czechs and Slovaks mainly come from differing degrees of influence from cultures like Germany that are more important?
