What caused gypsy integration to be so different across Europe? Not talking about culture, since they act like locusts regardless of the place, but in terms of appearance they look quite different depending on the place. In the Balkans, Eastern and Central Europe they look essentially no different from a modern pajeet from South Asia and have little local admixture, in Continental Western Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany) they look reasonably different from the locals but very different from the average modern South Asian and seem to have a moderate amount of local admixture, meanwhile in Northern Europe (UK, Ireland, Scandinavia) they look no different from the average local and have only trace amounts of pajeet DNA. Romanichal Gypsies (British ones) aren't even gypsies anymore. They're 99% British genetically and all have british surnames like cooper, smith, boswell, johnson, hall, etc. All their "culture" is just lower class British culture-bare knuckle boxing, hare coursing, poaching, etc are just lower class british countryfolk practises. The only remnant of gypsys left in their culture are occasional british works like mush, chavvy, pagger, cosh, cushty but the british working class use those as well.And then there's irish travellers who aren't even genetically related to gypsies in any way they just live a similar lifestyle to them and get grouped in with them.
