Is Justice Brennan the most egregious Supreme Court justice in US history in terms of just making shit up to get to his desired end?
>>
>>18464603
well no that was Ruth Bader Ginsburg. she openly admitted that she never even read the Constitution and wrote opinions based on what she felt it should say.
>>
>>18465095
No decision written by Ginsburg is as insane as Katzenburg or his death penalty opinions
>>
>>18464603
What exactly did he make up and in which cases?
>>
>>18465095
[citation needed]
>>
>>18465095
It's different. Ginsburg represented a movement that was already prevailing, Brennan actually spearheaded its rise. In other words, Ginsburg was just a Brennan victory lap. By virtue of that he is a far more wicked figure than her.
>>
>>18465095
tbqh she hardly ever even wrote opinions, she was just space filler to give the liberal side of the court an additional vote
>>
>>18466000
He was a death penalty abolitionist and would dissent on literally every single death penalty case arguing the Supreme Court should ban the death penalty nationwide under the 8th amendment's "cruel and unusual punishment" clause, despite the fact literally every single US state and the US federal government had the death penalty when that clause was ratified.
>>
>>18467246
I thought SC justices just farmed that shit out to their clerks
>>
>Born to Irish immigrant parents in Newark, New Jersey
begorrah
>>
>>18467654
Samuel Alito has the same background, funny how that works.
>>
>>18467654
if it ain't Anglo-Saxon and Anglican it ain't right.
>>
>>18467654
>>18467660
Sorry Alito's parents were Italian immigrants, not Irish. But it's not too different.
>>
>>18467661
>>18464603
historically speaking, I'm starting to think the distrust WASPs have had regarding all other ethno-religious groups was completely justified.
>>
>>18467661
>>18467669
The 2 most right-wing justices on the court today are a black man and an Italian-American Catholic. Meanwhile, Anglo-Saxon justice Neil Gorsuch just recently described America as a "creedal nation".

This seems like right-wing seethe about actually enforcing the constitution, including the parts that help or protect ordinary people.
the Lochner court and the current one were both way more egregious (or perhaps I missed the part where the US constitution mandated oligarchy?)
>>
>>18467674
He is Episcopalian today, and the only non-Catholic justice of the conservative wing. Kavanaugh and Barrett are just as weak as him tbf, but Thomas and Alito are both very good "despite" being Catholic.
>>
>>18467672
don't care. I unironically hate Irish people. They are all two-faced grubs suited only for use as farm, mining, and construction equipment.
>>

>who is Clarence Thomas
Nigga makes shit up just to entice his schizo wife to sleep with him
She's not even attractive, I'm legitimately baffled by it
>>
>>18467677
Gay marriage will be struck down :)
>>
>>18467680
niggers can't help being retarded but Hibernians have no excuse.
>>
>>18467680
>>18467682
Thomas is one of the most intelligent justices the court has ever seen, you should celebrate that given his ethnicity. You only don't like him because he doesn't budge in the face of the liberal slippery slope.
>>
>>18467677
No anon, don't you know that actually the president is above the law if he commits crimes and says it's for the execution of his presidential duties (pinkie promise)
Oh also it's not up to courts to enforce laws determined by Congress, so it's okay to take out majority-minority districts if you say it's for partisan reasons and not racial ones (pinkie promise, cross my heart, etc etc)

The current judicial system is a joke, and I fully support court packing with severe curtailing of the judicial system (especially the Supreme Court's) purview. Its current iteration is essentially a repudiation of republicanism into rule by judges.
>>
*emanates from a penumbra at you*
>>
>>18467681
Well yes, because Clarence Thomas isn't gay. What WON'T be struck down is interracial marriage because Clarence Thomas loves sleeping with his wife. It must grip like a Mac truck down there, there's no other reason that I can fathom.
>>18467684
>most intelligent justices the court has ever seen
I can make shit up too, can I be on the Supreme Court pretty please

>here's your 100% organically grown majority-minority district, mi hijo
>>
>>18467685
Those minorities vote as a bloc, so when you redistrict for partisan reasons you will end up carving them up. Sucks to suck. You're not entitled to have a local king nigger in every red state.

Contraceptives are next. Oh and school prayers are coming back :)
>>

Doesn't matter if it looks nice, unless partisan gerrymandering is banned nationwide (supported by Democrats, rejected by Republicans in Congress) districts like this are mandated by previously passed law from the representatives of the people.
>>18467694
>You're not entitled to have a local king nigger in every red state.
Good to know that it's okay to take out all seats from Virginia, California, New York, so on and so forth. Have fun with fucking yourselves over in November with gas on its merry way to reach $5/gal in Texas of all places.
>>
>>18467700
>gerrymandering is bad, unless I find it convenient in which case its good
you're a slimy little fucker aren't you lol
>>
>>18467700
No it's not okay, because those are Democrats, and I want Democrats to be disenfranchized as much as possible.
>>
>>18467701
>didn't read the post at all award
>>18467703
At least you're honest that you don't like democracy. I'm on the same page as you, I think we're headed to civil disturbance anyways in the next couple of years.

Sure dude, everybody getting more and more squeezed for cash on every single front with a shitty job market and a government that seems intent on giving as much money to corpo rats as possible is NOT a recipe for civil disorder.

What are you even doing on the history board, dude?
>>
>>18467715
You will be here in two years time pretending that american shitlibs like Hasan never, ever, said that there'd be a violent revolution in 2026 lol
>>
>>18467717
I don't watch streamers, barely consider them as human
Only positive thing about Hasan compared to Asmongold is that he has better hygiene, they're both ridiculous though
>>
>>18467710
No what you see as "civil disturbance" is just the usual flare-up of your ethnic pets rioting, some crazy leftist assassinating someone, and maybe another Rittenhouse incident.
A real disturbance would be if we see tanks in your campuses. Until then, it's business as usual.
>>
>>18467711
So is no one going to consider that having one democrat in your state delegation is actually a good thing, because when there's a democratic president or house majority they will advocate to get money for the whole state? Seems very shortsighted to me.
>>
>>18467729
>for the whole state
Only money they want is for their ethnic patronage programs. They're a foreign enclave and it's best to deprive of them of power.
>>
>>18467731
and have no seat at all at the table?
>>
>>18467732
Of course, ideally they would have no voting rights and citizenships at all and better yet would simply be kicked out of the country but that's a more long term thing
>>
>>18467681
I'd trade that in a heartbeat for making it illegal to bribe politicians and buy elections again

Taney, akshually. Dred Scott v. Emerson was a genuinely terrible ruling. Racism aside.
>>
>>18467734

Didn't Fugazi write a song about him?
>>
>>18467734
Many people won't. Hell despite all your messaging many people from your side won't agree to nationalized healthcare if it meant compromising on social issues.
>>
>>18467831
I'm sure he knows that. Even though he probably doesn't know he is a sucker.
>>
>>18467831
Its mostly because gays and women (especially nowadays) have social issues that are irreconcilable to our own. At the core of it, if think that many white males (including myself in this equation) would feel despondent knowing that our genetic code would vanish in favor of designer babies being raised by lesbians and gays. Of course I'm being incredibly farsighted here but most people who lean liberal or left don't seem to have a sense of foresight and live totally "in the moment".
