>is offered picrel>declinesImagine if Hitler was offered all of non-Soviet Europe in 1944... and declining
>>18465061The english would never let France or Germany to possess Flanders, at it's a "loaded gun pointed to their face" anyway.Napoleon also accepted far worse conditions from Austria in 1813 but it was a fake proposal he was supposed to reject so they declared war on him anyway.
>>18465123>The english would never let France or Germany to possess FlandersThey already accepted France anexing Flanders in the Treaty of Amiens (1802) before, and even if they didn't recognize it again in 1814, if the german states did then there is nothing England could do. They need other countries to fight for then in the mainland. Russia didn't give a shit and If Prussia/Austria also didn't café and accepted it, then they couldn't force France out of Flanders.
>>18465175>They already accepted France anexing Flanders in the Treaty of Amiens (1802) beforeAnd then they started a war against France again a year later
>>18465178Yes, the English are very treacherous, and treaties with them aren't worth much. But they didn't start the war because of Flanders. They started it because of Napoleon's bullying then on the continent, claiming they didn't deserve a voice while he expanded elsewhere. The English managed to buy support of the German states to actually fight for then. In 1814, the germans were the one proposing the borders shown in the op picture
>>18465061Really? When were they offered this, and by whom?
>>18465335>When were they offered this1813>and by whom?Austria (primarly), Russia and Prussia
>>18465061>if Hitler was offered all of non-Soviet Europe in 1944But first Hilter has to won eastern stalemate (stabilize logistic), Sicily ("the man who never was"), and Normandy ("pro-nazis Spaniards spy")
>>18465181>Napoleon's bullying then on the continent, claiming they didn't deserve a voice while he expanded elsewhere.I mean these are legitimate reasons to resume hostilities
>>18465061As a Brit, I try to see the good in everyone but it's really difficult with Napoleon. He just seemed to be an insane narcissistic mass murderer driven by a thirst for world domination
>>18465061Yes
>>18465335It was after the Battle of the Nations IIRC. The coalition offered peace if France would return to its "natural frontiers".
