I have just finished searching the NSDAP member archives for family members, and i have indeed found my own great grandfather.It wasn't really a surpise, i already knew he was a nazi - but now i have his literal nazi party membership card infront of my own eyes, which is.. weird. he joined exactly 101 years ago, on may 1st 1935, when he was exactly 1 year younger than i am now. We share the same last name.It feels.. weird. What the fuck do i make of this? What does this mean for me? It feels really fucking weird because, you know, having the same last name, this official NSDAP document about my own ancestor feels so fucking personal, it's hard to describe.
