abrahamic religions have an almost intuitive approach to sexuality, there's a way men and women are ment to act, incest, homosexuality, pedophilia (although not in the muslim world), fornication, its all something every religious person can agree on and is expected of them that they denounce it, its not what God wants or made you for.But far-easterners; the japanese, the chinese, koreans, maybe southeast asia, how does their conservatism look like? Do they care about abortion? Did say, the japanese, even have a code of sexual conduct beyond instinctual anger at adultery or incest before contact with the west?
>>18468601i'll say stuff on buddhism, if you're pursing the path of enlightenment, sex is a distraction. if you're pursuing the path of living your life moderately like a casual lay person, sex is done without cheating/depriving/harm. Simple. It covers adultery, rape, fornication, pedophilia. But not necessarily incest or homosexuality, unless those are done through deprivation and harming of others. Incest maybe considered a sin in abrahamic religion but its practiced widely in Muslim countries today, Christianity of the past, and so on. Its only a matter of zeal in premodern times due to religious ferver
>>18468601Anon Pedophilia used to be legal, if not normalized in most of Europe up until a few centuries ago. Maybe not with Infants, but children eight and up. Anything under that is generally thought to be pretty aberrant, iirc.

>>18468601You are very confused. Incest and pedophilia are very common in the Abrahamic world, particularly the middle-east, and were for most of history, same for homosexuality, they just managed to rationalize it somehow.
>>18469243>Yeah but that’s actually *insert rationalization*
>>18468601The Japanese have to be the worst example simply due to the influence of Shinto, which is very sexually permissive. Their priestesses even travelled around prostituting themselves for a time. Buddhism calls for sexual restraint but doesn't condemn sexual impropriety to the extent that Abrahamic faiths do. Buddhists also view abortion as murder but do not try to combat it to the extent that Catholics do.
