The tablet predates the flood story of Genesis, but Noah predates Moses.

The Gilgamesh tablet confirms there was a worldwide flood before it was written in Genesis.

This is because the Genesis account is written by Moses, long after the flood happened in the time of Noah.

The tablet confirms the Genesis account.

So the Jews were plagiarists.

No, it is an earlier account of the same flood.

Timeline: Flood in the time of Noah---Gilgamesh account--------Genesis account.

And to add to this, now that I see your point about plagiarism, the people or person who wrote the account on the Gilgamesh Tablet, is a descendant of Noah.

it was passed down through the generations so of course there will be similarities, it is an account of the same flood, passed down through the generations.

Any differences in the floods accounts would be because Moses' account would be a more full account as it was effectively written by God, where as the Gilgamesh account, is an account written just by humans.

the timeline is:
Utanapishtim, an immortal who survived to flood himself -> Gilgamesh, great king of Uruk, 2/3 god, 1/3 human -> babylon -> jews picking up the story and inserting themselves and their tribes deity into a story that predates their people and cult by 9 millennia.
Any differences would be because jews made shit up. Of cause the older story recovered by a god king from an eyewitness is the correct one.

Our OS. Fedora. Our tipping, excessive. But I think you started your thread with a fallacy. Might gather some responses with weird Bible stuff and MAYBE there was a big flood when the ice caps suddenly melted or something....but a worldwide flood?

Surely there is a spiritual meaning, maybe an early example of survival of the fittest or some extinction event. The ones chosen by God (of this Earth) to survive did.

Technically Noah wasn't Jewish, and interestingly it's claimed his eldest son, Shem, settled in Mesopotamia. Abraham, Shem descendant, was also a native mesopotamia before emigrating and creating the covenant with God, thus becoming the first Jew.

The story is about whites making it out alive from atlantis. my personal favorite version is the Irish rendition with the Tuatha Dé Danann
