What is the most neutral country in history that still exists today?
>>18469829Saudi Arabia - it’s pretty much the only major power not in either US or BRICS camp. Switzerland chose sides with US and Ukraine so they forfeited their neutrality status
>>18469858Saudi Arabia is US aligned but more importantly the leader of their own geopolitical faction in the Muslim world retard
>>18469829Switzerland is the prime example of this. Its status as a neutral nation was officially recognized in the congress of vienna. Since then, Switzerland has avoided participation in every major European war, including both world wars. The policy survived monarchies, liberal revolutions, industrialization, fascism, communism, and the Cold War. Switzerland built its entire military doctrine around “armed neutrality” remaining neutral but extremely difficult to invade.Funnily enough, during ww2 the General of Switzerland (an emergency military/political position created as a head of state during times of crisis) said that if the German army invaded and people heard reports that the government had surrendered and ordered the army to disarm and return to barracks they should ignore this and keep fighting, because due to Switzerland's highly decentralized constitution no one in the country had the authority to surrender.
>>18469829ummm, Iceland? all they ever did was embarrassing the bongs in the cod wars. sure they're "US/NATO aligned", but they basically didn't have much of a choice.>>18469883sure they were officially neutral, but they send mercenaries into european wars for centuries. and they were always happy to neutrally take care of everyone money.
Thailand. They were an ally in WWI and in the Axis in WWII but barely participated in either, and have pretty much always been sort of just around in that region. They were a very reliable American ally during the Cold War due to the unique circumstances of that period but since then have returned back to neutrality. It's actually pretty surprising Thailand still exists at all.
>>18469980>sure they were officially neutral, but they send mercenaries into european wars for centuries. They weren't neutral back then. They were Schrödinger's subjects of both the French king and the German Emperor. The actual history of their neutrality only began with the Peace of Westphalia, in which the rest of the signatory powers denied each other the right to march armies through Switzerland while also denying Switzerland the right to grant such passage.

>>18469858Wtf are you talking about lmao Saudi Arabia is a US ally
>>18469864>>18470052Saudi Arabia was chosen as meeting place for Russian and Ukrainian delegates for literally this reason. Also the Saudis are at least somewhat anti-Israel. They aren’t 100% US aligned. /pol/tards just act that way like every country besides Iran and Lebanon are US puppets.
>>18470129>Saudis are at least somewhat anti-IsraelOnly lip service to appease their population.
>>18469829I wanted to say San Marino but they actually were Entente ally during ww lolStill only one conflict throughout more than a thousand years of existence is probably as neutral as country can ever be
it has to be a country that's weak enough to have no soft power to influence others but at the same time also irrelevant enough to keep others from making you some vassal state. In other words it's probably some Island nation like Solomon Islands
>>18470375Commonwealth nation. Allied with UK and Australia.
>>18470409What about Independent Samoa?
>>18470175>>18470129The Saudis support terrorism as a behavioural sink for their youth, but all they actually want to do is destroy Mecca.
>>18469829India.
>>18470375>>18470375Micronesia?
>>18470369a city is not a country nor a nation.
>>18471105Cities are sometimes city-states
