why is the idea of ethics being subjective seen as such a scary and impossible thing?
it doesn’t require one being an edgelord, a criminal, a god hating fool, whatever.
literally all it means is that ethical questions are not truth-apt, but rather are based on various social standards and outcomes. that’s it. you can personally act in a way you believe is good and encourage others to do so, because the positive outcomes benefit everyone involved. but you also don’t have to cling to ethical assumptions that are illogical and based on unverifiable nonsense either.

You are right, the people are fearful because there is always a chance you can convince a majority to start killing a minority however. And I don't even mean race, you can convince Whites to kill other Whites (like how the British don't see Germans as humans and celebrate bombing civilians). That's the problem with admitting it is all subjective, eventually someone really charismatic will convince people to do things that harm you for no reason other than using their charisma to carry out their insanity
