Look how they massacred my boy...
>>
Reminder Mussolini was killed explicitly for betraying International Socialism. Not for being a dictator, not for ending democracy, not for joining forces with Hitler, not for losing the war. For betraying International Socialism for National Socialism.
>>
>>18471680
It's funny how fascists originated as pro-WW1 socialists.
>>
>>18471687
Makes sense when the main organized alternatives to being a monarchist at the time were being a liberal (yuck) or socialist. Makes sense that proto fascists would emerge from the latter rather than the former.
>>
>>18471687
Mussolini was at least not much worse than other European leaders in the 1920s. The failed Ethiopia war/ allying with Hitler in 1930s is when his regime started getting out of hand.
>>
>>18471687
If his regime only lasted like 1922 to 1931 and he died at that point I’d think he was pretty cool.
>>
>>18471680
How is he a traitor to socialism when he just stated his heterodox opinions and then the socialists kicked him out of their party in response? If anything, the socialists betrayed Mussolini.
>>
>>18471710
I was just stating the reason the guys who killed them used. I don't care abkut intersocialist fighting

If Mussolini had managed to avoid allying with Germany how would he be remembered?
>>
>>18471747
He was already popular with prominent figures and working class people in the 1920s. He would've been seen like Franco and quietly stepped down or died while in power. There's nothing that Italy gained from joining the Krauts in their retarded chimpouts. I'd go as far as to say they could've gotten away with a few land grabs in Africa too.
>>
>>18471747
Like Franco, probably. Which is to say, it wouldn't make much of a difference. Just look at modern day Spain and what's left of Franco's legacy. One of the more feminist shitholes in Europe despite the right wing regime surviving WWII by 3 decades.
>>
>>18471756
Franco's Spain was burned to the ground and infiltrated by commies. They were barely capable of joining the war off of paper. It's hardly comparable.
>>
>>18471753
>>18471756
Do you think it would have had any effect on how people regard Fascism?
>>
>>18471758
Who is "people"? Normies? No they would still be drilled on believing liberalism is superior because the US would obviously still be in charge in this hypothetical scenario. Anyone who cares to study political sciences? They would probably see it as a precursor to state capitalism.
>>
>>18471763
I guess what I meant was if it would still be viewed as the ultimate evil ideology boogieman that it's viewed as now or if it had avoided the association with Nazism would there be more nuanced discussion on it?
>>
>>18471756
>Just look at modern day Spain

>rising taxes
>gynocracy where straight, native men are third-class citizens behind women and immigrants while paying for them
>open borders for 70-IQ africans and arabs
>abysmal fertility rate of natives

Yeah, they're not coming back from this. There won't be a Re-reconquista.
>>
>>18471753
>I'd go as far as to say they could've gotten away with a few land grabs in Africa too.
Absolutely not. Mussolini's management of military affairs was atrocious. If he attempts any any adventures, he's bound to get humbled whether he's doing so side by side with Hitler or not.

>There's nothing that Italy gained from joining the Krauts
Hindsight is 20/20. Mussolini was already hedging his bets by only joining Hitler after it became apparent that France would collapse. Yet despite playing it as safe as he could he still fumbled the Italian war effort.

He would've needed to stay out of the war altogether but that could hardly be squared with an ideology venerating Imperial Roman grandeur. His own imperialist thinking forced his hand in the matter.

Do Judo instead of BJJ. The last thing you want in a street fight is to go to the ground.
>>
>>18471766
Fascism wouldn't be able to shake off the fact that it inspired German nazism regardless. As long as the liberal globohomo world order comes out on top, all the right wing competitors who wish to preserve cultural distinctions and racial purity will always be vilified. The falangists don't have a much better reputation than the fascists and nazis either, other than being the "smart scumbags" for staying out of the war.
>>
>mussolini shouldn’t have joined the war!
Why not? He wanted to restore the Roman Empire.
>>
>>18471803
A real roman emperor would have had more sense

You are so fucking pathetic lol, the greatest current Spaniard intellectual is a streamer called ibai, an ugly fatso that loves league of legends and he is the pinnacle of current Spanish culture. He is the most influential man in Spain right now. This kind of man will inspire people towards your incel dream of "cleaning up" the place? The dude directs Spaniards into playing league of legends and following TikTok trends lol.

It would definitely be different. Having the birthplace of fascism continue on as a normal country in the good graces of the international community would make it basically impossible to demonize it to the same extent. Especially since the cold war would still happen and Italy would definitely be on the American side of it. Germany would get labelled an outlier and all other fascist regimes would enjoy much greater tolerance.

Is that really true? I thought he was killed for becoming Hitler's bitch in the RSI.
Nobody lynched him after he was deposed by the GCOF.

>Having the birthplace of fascism continue on as a normal country in the good graces of the international community
That was never going to happen. There's a reason why Mussolini got caught up in Hitler's schemes in the first place. Mussolini and his movement wanted war as much as the German nazis. There's only two ways in which this was going to go down: Either Mussolini's hunger for glory and clay would've ended in military failure, causing his movement to be held in contempt. Or if Mussolini's forces had actually been competent and successful, he would inevitably step on Allied toes with his grand ambitions. There is no plausible path towards keeping fascist Italy in the good graces of the international community when it was led by a regime of disgruntled war veterans who were itching for another round. Hitler didn't even come up with the lebensraum concept himself, Mussolini did. That alone should give you a hint how likely it was for him to not get into trouble, Hitler or no Hitler by his side.
