So when I was growing up, a bit of which entailed being dragged to Sunday school including at this Chinese Protestant church in the US some of my family was involved in, I heard some pretty grim things about going to church in China. That was around 2017, but things have only gotten worse since then. Underground churches that weren't the CCP's official state-administered church were being shut down en masse, pastors who strayed even a little from the Party line were getting arrested, and the "official" churches were becoming more "official" by forcing congregants to sing Communist anthems during services or hanging up portraits of Chinese leaders in the naves. Sunday schools were being shut down, and new translations of Scripture were being prepared. And at the crux of it all, a "Sinicization" campaign was underway, aiming to China-wash all Christian activity, part of a broader effort to undermine perceived foreign influences in China.Seems depressing. Probably because it is.But what gives me at least a little comfort is knowing that it's not quite unprecedented. Recently, I was reading about English history, and came across the reign of King Henry VIII. He wanted a divorce, the Pope said no, so he said "fuck this, I'm starting my own church". And he did... forcing all his subjects to convert or be executed. He took over every last monastery in England, causing countless loss of cultural heritage. Countless Old English manuscripts up in flame. Every church or cathedral in Britain had to either become a Church of England or rubble. And if you argued about it, you'd lose your head. And that's how the Episcopal Church of Rich Lib BLM Wokedom in the rich white town near where I live came to be, I guess. The "high" church, George Washington's church, all because of a wife-beheading king who looked and acted like Ye Olde Donald Trump. Maybe in 500 years there will be a Church of "Real" Communism in the Asian enclave suburb near where I live.
>>18472491But this guy wasn't depressing
This guy (Hong Xiuquan, leader of the Taiping Rebellion) is actually a huge reason why a lot of people in China distrust Christianity today (along with the Boxer Rebellion). To put it into perspective, think about how Western countries view Islam.
>>18472491Historically Christianity has been used in china to cause rebellions in the country and reduce living standards. That's why the party cracks down on it and the public has no sympathy for it.
>>18472547I don't think Islam caused rebellions like Boxer and Taiping through conversions of the local population in europe.
>>18472605>yes goy, it's the Christian, and not the Sassoon/Rothschild kike syndicate that start revolutions and wars!
>>18472613>Missionaries from Portugal, Britain etc convert a few chinese >Suddenly rebellion and millions dead with no foreign interventions required>China tries to recover>Happens againYeah it makes sense, people don't like civil war so they ban christianity.
Christian churches are breeding grounds for the dregs of any society. Uproot them
