You'll need to seek out specific sources on the Precolumbian Americas because most generalist sources on World History treat it as an afterthought at best1491 by Charles Mann is a good place to start. It's got some issues with occasionally overstating things and having a bit of a moral/political slant and being outdated here and there, but it's mostly pretty good and covers a variety of different cultures and civilizations across the americas and points out what makes them cool and interesting and why they are worth learning about and how what most people get taught (or more often, not taught) about the Precolumbian Americas is completely outdated or never reflected the academic consensus to begin with
