They intentionally made a shitty, disorganised economy so as to disempower people who rose up through industries so that an alliance between intel, the prison system, and top industry would be impossible, so that the party could remain in control

And no, don't tell me that socialist technocracy is better than capitalist technocracy. Society cannot be reduced to mere technical problems to be solved, technology is the tool, not a god for us to obey.
