Always had this question, what would a world influenced by Carthage and not Rome look like?

Funnily enough, there is a (Upcoming CK3) mod that asks and tries to answer the same question, albeit partially

Not a fan of CK3 or EUV but I got to admit, that punic symbol in gothic style goes unbelievably hard.

Romans didn't put the bar very high but somehow I think Carthage would be even worse.

It would only change drastically if Rome was totally destroyed as Carthage was. Otherwise there would just be more Punic Wars in which Rome would defeat Carthage sooner or later.

Honestly outside of specifically northern africa and the western med this is basically the same question as "what if the roman empire never existed?"

I actually think Phoenicians as a whole influenced Europe and The World a lot more than people like to think.

I remember reading about how much they influenced the Nordic Bronze Age with trading and sailing techniques.

That seems interesting, if a little far-fetched. You got a link or something?

Likely more things written in Phoenician n: 𐤒𐤓𐤕𐤟𐤇𐤃𐤔𐤕 QRT𐤟ḤDŠT

Would Carthage have been able to expand the way Rome did? I doubt it.
