Why do communists love killing their own fucking countrymen so much?
>>
>>18485351
communism is based on the idea that utopia will inevitably result down the line if you just give a bunch of murdering psychopaths unrestricted power in the name of the revolution.
>>
>>18485351
What was even his goal?

>>18485351
Even KMT done it too. Unbelievable.

Killing communists is a communist rule

Pol Pot was actually a psycopath, western historians like to throw in the term for every dictator in modern history which is actually wrong since none of them are actually instructed in psycoanalysis. There's a difference between executing people or former members of the rulling class, even when the evidence is dubious, when you're changing the system you have to clean house, there's not other way. The Jacobin did it, the Soviets did it, the Chinese did it, the african warlords are doing it. If you don't do it, you're risking a counter revolution

The Cambodian genocide and Pol Pot are really interesting to me. How did the Khmer Rouge go along with Pol Pot's plans? Was everyone just extremely politically indoctrinated? How do you watch entire cities get depopulated and deported to death camps and think nothing is wrong? Most other genocides at least follow some sort of clear pattern in regards to who the perpetrators targeted, but with the Khmer Rouge, they just liquidated millions of regular Cambodians. It makes no sense to me.
How did the Angkar keep this shit going for YEARS with no internal attempts at a coup or uprising? Literally everyone in the country was suffering, but it didn't end until the Vietnamese intervened. How long would the regime have stayed in power if that didn't happen?

There's actually a strong correlation between authoritarian leftism and psychopathy.

I don't understand that one either. It seems like usually when there are mass killings of that degree, the perpetrators are hopped up on drugs (Soviets and most had alcohol, Nazis had meth, etc) but idk what they were using out in there unless they had massive PCP distribution networks

care to post that study? because so far as I know Pol Pot was the only one that fitted that description
>>
Capitalism, working as intended, has killed more of it's own kind than the struggle for a communist future ever has.
>>
>>18485667
Yeah, it really is mind-blowing. At least most genocides have some defined line where the perps can convince themselves that they’re only killing ”them”, not their own (of course, usually still requires some self-deception to keep that up), but I just don’t see how you’d create a coping mechanism powerful enough to justify the Khmer Rouge version to yourself.
>>
>>18485667
That's what's even scarier than reality. If Pol Pot wasn't dumb enough to chimp out of the Vietnamese he would have had free reign to exterminate the entirety of the Cambodian population by the 90s. Even if there was an internal coup I doubt the killings would stop before at least half the population got killed.

Third worlders dying of infectious diseases, hunger or war isn't capitalism, it's the natural state of mankind.

Modern commies try to distance themselves far as fuck from Pol Pot but he truly is the natural conclusion of socialism, and Mao was beginning to have similar thoughts near the end of his reign.

It doesn’t take much to go from arguing that capitalists are exploiting society n shiet because they own buildings where stuff is produced, to arguing that anyone who isn’t personally producing his own food and lives an easier life in the city than a rural farmer is also exploiting society in some way by living off the labor of food producers.

At the end of the day commie shit is just one long line of resentment until it peels back all layers of civilization like an onion and people are living like peasant farmers or some shit, because someone is always more oppressed n shiet than someone else even without le capitalism.

The Khmer Rouge's history in developing as a movement, along with their "ideology" is like the plot of a psychological horror movie.

Militant group that was part of the Viet Cong/shared the same model of political economy as North Vietnam spends years in siege mentality from being spied on by the government for the purpose of trying to kill them, and having to live in camps run by North Vietnam to protect themselves where they're treated like subjects, splinter off from the Vietnamese after years of living in these conditions. Develop an insane belief system that was designed around the leaders of movement's paranoid psychosis developed from living this way; now places priority on isolating the entire country, and destroying any existing social norms before their government was established. They start to use mindfulness discipline from Buddhism as a way of contextualizing "Class consciousness", and in propaganda to signal to the mostly Buddhist population of Cambodia, and use the same mindfulness discipline they develop for "identifying class allegiance" for their military to coordinate in fire fights. Then Cambodia starts being carpet bombed constantly/indiscriminately, so on top of all of this; they're now spending years in an environment where bombs could go off at any moment, so anyone around them could be killed at any time, and they're constantly surrounded by the ruins of cities/dead bodies. Which radicalizes them even further; to where they start thinking of the state of mind engendered by their mindfulness discipline as something approximating a “new category of human being”.

The Khmer Rouge was a geopolitical pawn being used by NATO and the Chinese government during a proxy war specifically designed to turn Cambodia into a buffer between the governments/various Marxist guerilla movements in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam (who were themselves all enemies in the disputes going on at the time) for the sole purpose of turning the entire country in question into "unusable resources". And gained most of it's members by brainwashing children in territories taken during the Cambodian Civil war, and radicalizing people who survived bombing runs.

It was an entire state run by people who were seriously mental in a manner that is unique from most governments.

Pol pot wasn’t even communist

As for the USSR and China, they both have a long history of famine

Most of the Khmer Rouge fighters were drawn from the ranks of dirt poor peasants. To them anyone that died from the consequences of Year Zero was just a soft-handed bitch that deserved it
