70 days after Pearl Harbor, in mid February of 1942, Japan took over Singapore, Britain's most important base in the orient and said to be an impenetrable fortress. Japanese soldiers rode in on bicycles terrifying British officers into surrendering.
It has been 82 days since the start of Trump's operation epic fury against Iran. Trump's USA has yet to seize Kharg island let alone any part of mainland Iran.
>>
>>18488846
The US has won every conventional war it has fought in and still hasn't fully commited to the war against Iran at all.
>>
>>18488867
America was behind 9/11
>>
>>18488867
So Trump is fighting a politically correct war? I thought his whole point was to end that.
>>
It's hard to win a war when you don't know what the objective is
>>
>>18488902
Like Austrian campaign in the Balkan, 1788-1791
>>
britain was a lot weaker than iran
>>
>>18488933
...
>>
>>18488885
Proof?
>>
>>18488846
>Trump's USA has yet to seize Kharg island let alone any part of mainland Iran.
Is that a stated military goal?
>>
>>18488867
The United States has never defeated a peer in a 1v1 while Germany, Russia, Britain, France, Japan, and Iran all have.
NOTE! Israel has never defeated a peer in a 1v1 and has lost multiple 1v1s to Egypt and Syria.
>>
>>18488887
>politically correct war
What specifically does that mean?
>>
because despite Trump being retarded enough to start a slap fight with Iran without really considering they could close the straight, he still knows that sending in a ground invasion is essentially political suicide especially with a midterm election coming up (which evne before the war was going to be an uphill battle for him), in other words its a case of attempting and failing to use different methods to beyond a solution that won't take long but will cause an uproar for an already unpopular conflict
>>
>>18488846
Americans got clowned aplenty in 1942, with the Philippines, Java Sea, Savo Island, and many other losing naval battles, but Singapore was strictly a Brit fuckup.
>>
>>18488952
A long lasting war where you can't fully commit due to political correctness and have to avoid civilian casualties etc. reducing military effectiveness. Which is what Trump criticized about previous middle east wars but is doing right now.
>>
>>18488956
Japan did a ground invasion of Singapore just fine, and they had to ship everyone in from Shanghai and Tokyo then fight through the Malaysian jungle. America has numerous well supplied bases right next to Iran.
>>
>>18488963
You take tweets made by politicians as truth?
>>
>>18488969
But is sending in a ground invasion a stated goal? Yes or no?
>>
>>18488867
>lose war
>declare it was actually a UNconventional war [do NEVER ever never ever ask wtf that even is dough]
>remain undefeated since 17Burger6 os something like that
GENIUS
>>
>>18488978
When Truman told the Japanese he would nuke them he wasn't lying. Trump has threatened to destroy Iranian civilization outright but has obviously been exposed as bluffing. Is the USA run by someone who is incapable of talking straight even once?

Ground invasions are military operations not political goals. The stated political goal of america re: Iran is actually not well defined and keeps changing, from regime change to civilization destruction to restoring the status quo. Regardless, if a ground invasion can help support whatever this goal is, it should be done, unless if the US armed forces are incapable of one (which they appear to be).
>>
>>18488996
I mean you said it in your own post. Truman.
>>
>>18489005
>which they appear to be
Circular logic. They don't appear to be able to do a ground invasion until they do?
>>
>>18489012
So Japan captured Singapore in 70 days while America can't capture kharg island in 80 days because ground invasion bad or something.
>>
>>18488996
Is the end to the biggest war in world history the same as polica actions of the modern world to you?
>>
>>18489019
But is a ground invasion a stated goal though? The Japanese made ground invasion blatant from the beginning. America not so
>>
>>18489022
Ok let's compare to previous US police actions when the USA wasn't as enshittified
George HW Bush took down Iraq in 40 days
George W Bush launched operation iraqi freedom and captured Baghdad in 3 weeks
>>
>>18489030
Both of those operations had land invasion as as stated goals from the very beginning.

>>18489026
Ground invasions are not goals. They are a means to achieve a goal. America obviously isn't achieving its goals right now.
>>
>>18489031
So Trump is failing to achieve his goals with Iran by not launching a ground invasion because ???
>>
>>18489033
What specifically are those goals?
>>
>>18488885
Sure, moishe
>>
>>18489038
Ask Trump. The goals keep changing from regime change to civilization destruction to just restoring the status quo.
>>
>>18488846
Because we were meant to be a country built on defense only. Offensive wars were basically Wilson's doing when he decided we should be world police.
