I still have no idea why this game was so popular. It's so bland and it's rather boring.

The entire overarching narrative of The Elder Scrolls franchise revolves around the conflict between humans and elves, which is rooted on their differing opinions on Lorkhan, the Spirit/God that caused the creation of the mortal plane, with (most) elves believing he was a chaotic trickster who maliciously wanted to trap everybody in a hopelessly limited reality and (most) humans believing he was a benevolent deity who had some sort of cool beneficial plan in mind when coming up with the mortal world.

That being said, that shit's arguably a lot more evident in Morrowind than Skyrim, where the story largely just revolves around dragons and the evil elves' motivation isn't really explained all that well.

I could never beat the game. I've played it maybe 10 times over the years, but I get bored and quit 50-70% of the way through every time.

This. Especially when you use alternate start mods that give you a backstory or spawn you elsewhere..

The tallest structures in Skyrim were built by dwarves.

It's a meme. For me, by far the worst parts of morrowind were the dwemer ruins. I hated them and still hate them and never properly enjoyed morrowind because of that.

>>18657364
You don't have to interact with them until the end.
