>>18689455the "sacrifice" was pretty much just him cracking down on a riot, and while I can't really comment on the whole his wife being a whore being true or not, I can say making a whore a saint isn't exactly that unique given several saints used to be bandits that killed people before repenting
He butchered the west and weakened the east. Most of the catastrophes that weakened the empire in the 7th century trace back to his reign in one way or another, or were made worse by the fallout of events that took place under his leadership.
