You have until September 8th, 11:59 PM GMT, to illustrate stories from the latest “/lit/ Writing Competition” >>>/lit/24600485, >>>/lit/24611152
Countdown timer:
https://countingdownto.com/?c=6477572

Replied below are all 11 stories, ordered by votes.

Rules:
• Image dimensions: 2550 pixels wide × 3300 pixels high.
• No AI.
• The image must be suitable for blue boards (e.g. /lit/).
• You must “submit” the image by posting it ITT as a .png or .jpg

After the submission deadline, two Strawpolls will be created, one for “Illustrations of Winning Stories,” and one for “Illustrations of All Stories.”
Only illustrations pertaining to the top third of the placing stories—the top 5 out of 11 (rounding up, and including ties), marked with a ◊ below—are “Illustrations of Winning Stories.”

The /icic/ winner of “Illustrations of Winning Stories,” will grace the front cover of August’s compilaiton book;
The /icic/ winner of “Illustrations of All Stories” will grace the back cover.
Every submitted illustration will accompany its story of inspiration in this month’s edition of /lwc/+/icic/, just like last-last month:

Just recently got an e-ink reader, so now I can casually read these in bed.
Should make for a better (and easier) reading experience than being hunched over my desk, being blasted directly in the eyes by blue light.
>>
Neato, I won!
Anyway, here's my chicken scratch writing for you.

And all black, if that's what you prefer.

These are amazing!
I’m going to use the dichromatic one; the original you posted will accompany its namesake story in the pdf I’ll finish and post tomorrow.
I also owe you some commentary on your great work—as well as responses to the good discussion in the other thread—so stay tuned, I guess.
Thanks again!

If you want to actually view it as a “book” through the catbox/browser pdf-viewer, go to the drop down menu and select “Even Spreads.”
And again, thank you >>7682710 so much for the cover alt!

You're welcome, I'm glad you were happy with it.
See you again when I get around to this month's illustration... which I will hopefully not procrastinate so much on.
>>
I cant finish a book for the life of me but maybe if I draw what I read it'll be fun.
>>
>>7682710
Btw, is it intentional that the coils/ringlets of his hair evoke stacked coins?
>>
>>7695775
Uhhh... I'll leave that up to interpretation!
>>
>>7689989
They're short stories - you could also just pick one at random if reading all of them is too challenging.
Hell, no need to even read the whole story, just skim it, pick a scene you think is good and draw that.
>>
do the submissions usually come in last minute or we not expecting anything this month?
>>
>>7705457
I plan to do sth on the weekend.
CBA to do more than my usual figs and main drawing.
>>
>>7705457
I've got a bunch of sketches ready to choose from (at least one for each story) and make an illustration, but yes, I'm usually last minute with it, haha.

You're free to submit something instead of trying to guilt others. It's still on-going.

>“Contagion Thanatos” by ContagionThanatos (AKA yodo)
Here's a quickie one. I plan on doing a couple more, but we'll see how I go.
A bit of a literal translation of a scene from the story for this one, but why pass up an opportunity to draw a seal?

I quite enjoyed this batch of stories this round too.
>>
>>7717730
Heads up champ, that says "Thantos".
>>
>>7717731
lol, the most common mistake, I even double checked the spelling!
Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it in a jiffy after I finish eating.

There we go. The slightly less shameful version, haha.
