>another drawing session where I catch myself daydreaming about having students to explain my process, mindset, and how to do things — even though I'm still far from making itI can't be the only one
let me be your student anon-sensei, promise I'm more BEG than even you are, and I'm in need of a mentor in my life!
>>7696852You can start right now with a youtube channel. You don't have to be God at art to share what you know.
I often pretend to livestream.
>>7696950I do this, is it normal or mental illness?
I found that explaining why I do something is the easiest way to figure out whether it's retarded, using a simple method. If I can't explain why the fuck I'm doing something (note that "it looks cool" may be valid), it's retarded, I should shut up and practice. If I can confidently tell what I'm doing and why, I have Dunning-Kruger, I'm retarded, I should shut up and practice.
>>7696852I do the same but I came to the conclusion that this helps me to understand better what I'm doing
Teaching a subject is one of the best ways to learn a subject because you're breaking down your knowledge and internalising it.
>>7696974Probably somewhere on the spectrum but as an artist that's a good thing.
I'd often fantasize about somebody asking in my replies about my workflow or techniques. Then I'd get to make a two-page tutorial to quote tweet them and I get an easy hit tweet.
>>7696852If you can draw reasonably well and are willing to teach for free there are lots of opportunities. Bring your work to your library and ask about offering a course or single class to children, adults, or both. Approach your local council on aging (or equivalent) and offer. Churches often host similar events. My family has been to several painting events at a friend's church, and we're not the slightest bit religious. We also help with their set design when they put on plays. Another chance is 4H or scouts. Many of these groups will be able to cover the cost of materials.Lastly, you probably have a local arts council or equivalent. Our is called a cultural council. They get money from the state to distribute for events just like this. Apply for a small grant. In any of these cases, be prepared for a variety of skill levels. Also, all of the groups I mentioned will know other groups (Lions, Vets Associations) that might happily host you.
>>7696852I usually do it as a means to remind myself of the principals. I also had a gig as a leader in an afterschool program and while I dont think Id ever step foot in that scenario again I always think about making a better student plan.
>>7696852the only autistic thing here is you being self conscious about. In essence it's like creating a presentation to excerpt the most important information for an upcoming test like when back in school. It's just your way to refresh and deeply ingrain the information, I bet you catch yourself thinking/saying "no no what I just said is actually wrong it's actually like this" in front of your imaginary audience.chill it's just one of your learning methods.
>>7697300create a sock puppet account and ask yourself ;-)
>>7696950I've been actually Livestreaming... to no viewers
Brother, everything I do I speak about it as explaining it to an audience, even before livestreaming was a thing, if you are mentally ill I'm terminal.
>>7696852I just yap likeAnd then we add our highlights and shade this part then blend em some Then erase the sketch layer and recheck some lines and shit you knowIf you've come this far into the video please like and share now back to the assAs you can see the ass should dangle like the the tits that we made on the last character cause ass is just another pair of tits
