i just finished another referenced portrait, i really enjoy doing them, despite it being "only" copy. i do my fundies and then afterwards i reward myself with fun.

>>7710514Yeah, you shouldn't exclusively grind fundies. All of the people I've known who never progress (my former self included) have been stuck in that trap. It's not just bad because it keeps you from your end goal, but there are a lot of other things to art than the very fundamentals and unfortunately you only learn those by exposing yourself to them. Which is not to say that fundies are bad, you should work on those too, just not let it become a comfort zone.
