>>7716555why the fuck can't I draw like thatlife isn't fair
>>7716612When god was giving out brains you thought he said trains and he you said, "I'll take an ol' slow clunky coal driven one.
>>7716612Alphonso Dunn 's textures are some of favorite in all of pen draftsmanship. They have such wonderful character.
>>7716613>god
>>7716612This is what dynamic sketching teaches. Go get 'em, tiger.
>>7716555yeah but can he draw a cute waifu?
>>7716646Does this count?
>>7716555I like Virgil Finlay. The dated medium combined with sci fi is a very cool vibe.
I am a sucker for flowing, clean lines
>>7716555https://www.youtube.com/live/r-_mfJKfgAU?si=vmu0F7xI5-mlA8dNin progress
>>7717313This is cool.
>>7717382Thanks
>>7717912This is such a a good drawing. The only things I would change are his expression (should be stronger) and the horse's hind legs (shouldn't be parallel).
>>7718372How did Wrightson pull this off, anyway?
>>7718377100+ hours per piece, 7 years for about 50 pages while doing contract work elsewhere.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viPQZKqyi7Q&list=PLX_8qX_E1Nu7XoE0jTv4JBsV8-_03lCW_richard friend does a lot of coverage on. can learn if you want. its mostly franklin booth techniques.
>>7716555A couple from Nicolas V Sanchez. Almost made me go down a ballpoint rabbit hole.
>>7718961meant to post this one, but never saved it.
>>7717199fucking neatmakes me want to go back and buy a few packs of uni-balls and get back to my roots. this is a good reminder that my art existed before the internet. fucking internet stupid tech ruined my desire to hand-draw shit on paper.
>>7718372Art like this makes me obsess over every little detail in my own drawings, then I end up spending hours just staring at them and doing nothing
Another classic. Just super clean.
>>7716615Amazing. Looks like something from a good manga.
Stuff like this has been my recent obsession in reproducing and learning. Just high contrast "simple" pieces.
>>7719002There are no good manga. Just tracers and photobashers.
>>7719000Looks like AI.
>>7719007Al Williamson was born in 1931. Im sure its AI Flash Gordan art.
>>7718961v cool!
>>7718956mmm. that makes sense. I remember reading that he was displeased with his first work on Frankenstein and went back and did a lot more work on it.
Eichanwald or something does these. Posts on twitter, does some art books, few comic book covers for conan, etc.
Forget this guys name. Also on twitter and lot of art books. Enjoy his work.
Franklin Booth
Another wrightson frankentsein. Ive tried doing this type of work before. The grass alone takes HOURS. like a 1x1 cube of this type of grass is just painstaking detail work. And overinking or messing up values can quickly destroy the entire piece if you rush or arent paying attention to your values and composition.
>>7719057fuck, thats a shitty version. had to delete. not sure when saved that. heres good version.
>>7719050Philip Harris. Great little piece.
>>7719050That's goddamn pleasant. I love how the tree isn't just extending past the border, it's growing out of the panel and there are little shoots that are extending out and around the border while the main branch is angling behind it. *Mwah* chef's kiss
>>7719523Yeah, it's pretty great.
>>7716612A lack of mileage.
>>7719050Phillip Harris.https://cara.app/philipharrisart/allPinterest is a fucking blight on this earth.
>>7719585It's helped me find more artists than any other app/social media, though its become an AI hellscape lately.
Daniel C. Beard
>>7719616Love this old illustration style.
Can you do this with a ballpoint pen
>>7719647People can. I dislike ballpoint and dont feel like trying to master the touch over just using a brush/nib/finerliner
>>7719647I do it when I'm away from my computer. Mostly because I can't be assed learning anything else. Digital has made me soft.
>>7719647Yes, but the medium is very fickle and oily. Look up Oscar Ukonu.
