>Be in my mid 30s>All of my artist friends have completely given up on art. >Not doing it "on the side" or as a hobby. Just flat out quit to start families and work 60 hours a weekHow do we prevent this from happening to us? Drawing is literally all I have to live for
>>7717003If you find out let me knowI replaced one of my hobbies with drawing once I got a job that ate up too much timeNow ive had a baby and more of my time has been eaten and I havent picked up a pen in 2 weeks and when I do its for 30 minutes at most
>>7717003>Drawing is literally all I have to live forif you get a family you'll have other things to live for
>>7717003>How do we prevent this from happening to us?By being a fucking stupid loser with no prospects, money, or gf. What's the matter, you still have friends and hopes for romance? Pathetic
>>7717003>>7717040I WALK A LONELY ROADTHE ONLY ROAD THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN
>>7717040>By being a fucking stupid loser with no prospects, money, or gfGuess that means I'm GMI
>>7717003>Drawing is all I have to live forThis is the actual problem you should be working on.
have you tried being actually good at art to the point that is your main income source and when you get old you can just "teach" people online?
>>7717003By not starting a family or having children, you gotta sacrifice some aspects of life in order to draw and become an artist
>>7717003It can always get worst anon. You could've put all your stock into being an artist and failed to become a good at the one fucking thing that keeps you going in life. There is no more soul crushing feeling than realizing that just because you put in effort doesnt mean you will make it.
>>7717154Literally me. This shit seemed so simple when I was young and full of hope. You can put in ten thousand hours and receive nothing. Then watch younger more talented people already with a thriving art career. My life is just a joke.
>>7717003Pretty sure this thread is a copy pasta
>>7717040this is unironically true, its either that or killing yourself for a chance at reincarnation
>>7717003>>7717040/threadWife + Job will take almost all your time not sleeping, it get a lot worse when she's pregnant.Forget about hobbies in your 30s unless you're a NEET, Rich, Single or all of em.I was married thru most of my 20s, I didn't have time for anything but work and the wife, Life's hell because I'd rather enjoy my hobbies alone than spend time with other people like friends and lovers.OP you should read up on the 4 burners theory and decide if your hobby is more important than other stuff in your life. There's also the option of turning art into your career but that's unrealistic in a lot of countries at our age, not in mine tho.
>>7717003H R Giger quit doing art in his 50s because he viewed it as work. He "retired".Sid Meier did art to his deathbed in his 80s because he loved doing it. Don't view it as work.
>>7717323That image hits slightly too close to home. Only I tapped out in 2 years instead of 10, hang in there homie.
>>7717003just don't stop, infact with me, I don't think I can stop. I can't help it, the urge is always in there.
>>7717341dont you mean syd mead?
>>7717003I would kill myself before giving up on art.
>>7717003Life is so utterly fucking boring I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't doing some kind of art.>work 60 hours a weekyeah, I know a lot of normalfags like thathow they don't just throw themselves off a fucking building before doing that idk
>>7717003>60 hours of work per weekThey're really working 40 and slacking away from home to avoid chores and raising kids, the bums.
>hmmmm will i play the social media lottery, when the internet is dead and full of bots?or>hmmm should i wageslave so i can at least eat food every month?Accept that you will never be rich and famous doing art no matter how good you are, then come back and tell us how much you looooove drawing.
>>7721770>Jeet can't comprehend the possibility of work/hobby balance and thinks every artist expects to be famous OP is probably trying to avoid work and family consuming his entire life like many normies. If you allow either to stop you from drawing you won't make it
>>7717323Are you divorced now? What country?
>>7717323 >finish uni at 20>get money >help parents>way too much money for hobbies>might even be able to buy a house o algoIt's that simple, don't be a stupid faggot and have kids or wives, only tyrones and people who give up do that , also only Tyrone's think in absolutes. You don't have to give up on something like health for your hobbies as long as you have the time and money, kinda hard with the current brown and zoomtardnigger infested society that has almost erased the trust in society and the middle class but hey i'm sure you'll manage.
>>7722052What did you study/where did you work afterwards?
>>7722104architect - urban planner, no masters or doctorate. electric company, auto cad teacher at uni, uber driver. Father died and i rent his apartments to 1 of my friends and some engineers, give half of my earnings to my mother and save the other half. If i were to get a GF i'd have to give half my savings to her and the other half to Tyrone's kid, no thanks rather commit suicide. Also this is obviously personal experience, i'm sure you guys have amazing not whale wives and obviously not retarded autistic children that are not a detriment to the already crumbling society. Sparkle Sparkle ~
>>7722117Y'know depending on how old you are you can get a girl in her mid 20s easily and mold her into what you want. Dating 30+ women is pretty black pilling, either they're as much of a fuck up as me or they live with the constant failure of not getting married and hitting the wall.
>>7722117Why the fuck are 50% of 4chan posters landlords?
>>7717016>>7717003There are a lot of artists that have kids though. And yet also amateur or hobbyist artists online who have a job. (I mean, literally, unless you're a kid living off your parents, how are you supporting yourself if you don't have a job unless you're proposing all artists are NEETs?) Besides, if you start a family, your priorities and loves change. If you love your new family, then drawing isn't the only thing you have to live for. If artists who are famously not super smart and are impulsive can manage it with kids and a family then why can't you?Have you considered that a lot of people give up hobbies as a normal thing going through life and this is less of a case of art is fucked and more of a case of people giving up a hobby? Do you honestly believe that anyone who's put a decent effort into art just does it forever, or any hobby as a matter of fact?
Well see, your priorities just need to stay the same. It's that simple. Life just has a way of making them change drastically because every day is literally an rng gacha roll where you'll either be given shit or a jackpot that can dramatically change the course of your life. Every day is predicated on faith, I'm not saying this in the religious sense, life is literally all one giant entropic gamba.
I'm 31. I still live with my parents, I got 20 dollars to my name, I don't have a driver's license, I don't have a car, I can't swim and I have never had sex with a woman (although I kissed a few). On the outside it may seem like it's completely over, I just feel like if I get a proper breakthrough everything could be turned around. Things do look grim but I genuinely believe you just have to keep pushing, keep living. People succeed despite more bizarre circumstances, you should never truly give up. I don't think life is a deliberate test of any sort, a lot of it is luck, it's just perseverance pays off given enough time. How much time is that? No one can tell.
>>7717003I think I'm pretty safe from starting a family

>>7717003is there a single internet artist that is as popular as speedoru but draws actual correct anatomy and proportions, with real proper rendering? Oh, and they have to be currently alive.
>>7722173Who else has time to trawl imageboards all day? Also, he's probably a thirdie
>>7722222>quints!!!!!
