General dedicated to posting and discussing art of either:1. Manmade objects, vehicles, tool, weapons etc. (of any kind and any historical era, as long as they fall in the ballpark of "technology") and fictional derivatives of such2. Objects, vehicles, creatures etc. that aesthetically fall into the visual space of mecha/robot/artificial/cybernetics etc. regardless of level of realism.Helpful to mention the level of realism, if any, you are taking into account in the art.
>>7717291I will save /mg/ from an early death. Also sailing ships are machines.
>>7719467Thanks for the boats, anon.
You're such a gem mech bro
>>7719525I was sad when the last thread died prematurely, thanks for carrying the torch. Best thread on /ic/.
>>7720787Thanks anon>>7722103Damn cool work. And yeah, i forgot to bump it last time, my bad.
>>7724104hey mech anon, would you mind showing the construction aswell? i wanna draw like you but i feel overwhelmed
>>7726513Awesome, reminds me of old scifi book covers. You do any painting?
Recent cars and trucks from life >>7724976Amazing >>7724104Wonderful. Always a treat to see your work >>7722103Awesome colors and style >>7719467Very nice style. Gives horror vibes even though I’m not sure if that’s your intent
>>7730558
>>7724976Sorry for answering late. Here you go. I try to sketch as little as possible or not at all, but if i want to make sure i don't get retarded and mess up the composition by zoning out, I do something like bottom of picrel. Marking proportions.
Really disappointed to not finish this one. It was a damn nice car
This morning
>>7726513I also meant to say amazing to this one . Very nice rendering
How much of a handle on human anatomy do you need to draw humanoid mech?
>>7724104Holy shit, this is beautiful man
>>7731153Mmm not much. Just a basic understanding of the shapes and proportions of the body. You’d benefit a lot from drawing mannequins if you want to study humanoid mechs

How would you guys go about designing a machine meant to look like it was designed by robots. I feel like the logical choice would be to make it bland and efficient but that seems boring.
>>7733302AI-designed parts optimised for high strength and low weight have an organic look to them, with lots of irregular triangles, rounded edges, and holes. I'd take some inspiration from slime mold structures and insect anatomy. Unlikely the overall structure would be humanoid either
some mexican makes a lazy copy of my work gets more likes it's over!
>>7728785>>7731086thank you guys! no I don't paint much it's a bit too hard
>>7735932Hey, let's be fair to the guy, at least he put in actual effort and not just traced it. Or straight up pirated the original image.
>>7732048I love this.
>>7735932Total anarcho-capitalist victory (common)

any times for drawing a short stack or SD mech like this?
>>7743226Nice decepticon
>>7731208It helps if you proportion it out with cranial units, just remember that the head is always a bit smaller than on a human.
>>7743226Based appliancebro
any good tutorials to start getting into mech? or just draw :P
>>7731887Based police car enjoyer
>>7755208Ideally you want to tune up your perspective knowledge. Probably start with perspective made easy or how to draw by Scott Robertson. Perspective made easy is for more general perspective and life drawing while how to draw is more advanced and focuses on vehicles and what people on this general would benefit more from (though PME is still a very useful book that every artist should study nonetheless.) maybe delve into some mechanics related media like transformers, hearthstone, armored core, shit like that.
