Did you reach a point where you realized "improving more" will be a net sovl loss?
Kinda, yeah. I bitcrushed the fuck out of a painting as a joke, and it kinda made me realize that trying to render more and more detail is just pointless and uncanny.
real skill is when you can manufacture a style exactly as you want it
>>7718299oof, that's fucking brutal
>>7718299The rendering on the after is goated but holy crap that face, what a downgrade
>>7718342goated? its boring as well.
>>7718299Once people find out that improving your skills should improve YOUR art style.
>>7718299This is why people with trve talent should just keep churning out finished pieces as opposed to studymaxxing.
Improving more and less soul are contradictory. If your "improvement" leads to less soul, you didn't improve. You should be trying to get more soul, however you can. And you can ALWAYS get more soul.
>>7718317TRVKE
>>7718299in theory you can have soul and skill .
>>7718299>2002>2013What are they doing in 2025?
>>7718410"Soul" is just a way of saying appeal despite lack of skill, from what I've seen.
I found that the best way of maximizing soul is to warm up with studies and regular drawing for a few hours, then do a final drawing with no construction and no planning, just direct drawing. You have to stop thinking in order to bring out your true style.
>>7718299What art schools do to a motherfucker.
>>7718410this only has soul
>>7718342i find the rendering of after worse, i think it would look better with left's renderingin general i think on the right he tried to achieve something but didn't get all the way there while achieved his goal on the left
>>7718607lack of skill
>>7718412Dude is Ben Krefta, he's one of the guys who wrote awful "How to Draw Manga" books
>>7719018dude this is sovl
>>7718299Didnt they make a How to draw anime/manga book?
>>7719014yeah, I have no skill and no talent. You got me. I still draw though.
>>7718317Any good artist should be able to draw in a variety of styles to be desuObviously theres one you can do the best and draw the most but you should be able to somewhat recreate other peoples styles
>>7720580>you should be able to somewhat recreate other peoples stylesLiterally why.
>>7720585That's the entire point of doing art as a job or being able to handle a variety of tasks you fucking mongoloid.
>>7719018>>7719019The thing that makes his art look so weird is that over-detailed hair and stuff. It is very rare in anime to see so much detail. Also the values look bad, he could get away with a way better drawing if he wouldn't put so much detail in. Despite that he uses very saturated colors and he does not really capture the original character's artstyle. He uses his own weird style which looks like a huge downgrade tbdesu
>>7720585>what is working in animation/ comicsUnless youre a big shot with your own series you'll be adapting the existing artstyle of what youre working on
>>7719018>>7719019He actually kept improving wow
>>7718299the new body looks less anatomically accurate than the first one, he didn't improve at all. What autism does to a mfer
>>7719019It’s way too detailed to the point it’s hard to focus on any one part. Like the rendering on the petals would be fine if it was one or two but this is way too much.
>>7718299Unironically soul vs souless
>>7718299
>>7719018this one is pretty good even if the detail management is kinda fucked
>>7720585>>you should be able to somewhat recreate other peoples styles>Literally why.so you can take the elements you like from those styles into your own
>>7718299There isn't a faster way of losing soul than making your character's hair thinner and darker
>>7718299left:was actually drawnright: used gradients and shit as a shortcutShrumple as that
