>>7722176I’ve been studying 3D sculpting around 2023–2024 but my results have been abysmal and I’ve felt demotivated since November last year. I never had any reason to learn other than to have a normal hobby outside of video games, but i don't wanna complain about childhood and regrets, i have a question:Do you need to learn to draw to do 3d sculpting? I've been struggling alot with anatomy and stylized shapes, when i did the picasso exercise for symbol drawing in school back when i was underage, i was so frustrated i felt like i was being trolled, i've never had help from anyone and never expected one in my friend circle so i kept trying until i gave up during covid and learned 3d blender instead, but i still struggle with similar issues in sculpting form.
How am I supposed to have fun with drawing when I have to draw backgrounds? Drawing a tile floor in perspective is just not very fun, ok?
The "just blind copy bridgman twice" thing is just a meme, right? I'm doing it now as an ultra beg and I'm fucking up everything. There has to be a step I'm missing, right?
>>7722251It is a meme, but it kind of works. Some people suggest doing the second round of copying by memory, but I've never tried that so I don't know how effective it is. The truth is drawing/copying anything for long periods of time will be effective to various degrees, so you'll probably get something out of it
>>7722251It's a meme yeah. You won't get much from studying anatomy as a "ultra beg". Plus Bridgman is bit harder to learn from since his sketches are quite loose and the instruction is a bit lacking. I would only recommend it once you are decent at figure drawing and have at least basic anatomy knowledge.
>>7722176How am I supposed to transition from learning perspective to actually drawing figures and characters in perspective? I can draw either things separately, but I'm completely unable to combine them
>>7722262Try to draw it freehand/intuitively but place the horizon line at least to keep vanishing points in mind. If things go wrong, then break it down analytically, using the perspective knowledge that you have learned. If there's knowledge or techniques you are missing, look in books or video courses for them. When you are looking for specific answers, it's easier to find the knowledge you need.Specifically for drawing figures in perspective, drawing the ground plane they are standing on is useful. And wrapping lines around their forms to see how their limbs are in perspective. And drawing a box around them too see where they sit in space.Tools like perspective grids or 3D mock ups in Blender can help too.
How the hell do I draw characters accurately. I make sure to use references and even draw over said ref but it never turns out right.
>>7722313You use the refs to draw the character you want accurately in your style. Your goal is not to draw them 1:1 in the og artist's style. Pic related is famous anime characters drawn in Simspons' style.
>>7722176Is there any guide explaining how jiggle physics should move relative to each motion? Especially when you factor in stuff like feet touching the ground
someone give me a rundown on what the fuck is wrong with /dtg/
What should my workflow be?
>>7722708Sketching whenever, lineart in the morning/day before you exhaust yourself and coloring and rendering whenever
Any tips for maintaining symmetry in faces? I know it doesn't need to be 1:1 but I feel like I spend way too much time flipping back and forth trying to make them somewhat even.
>>7722708That's something you figure out on your own buddy boi. It's like a nen user asking "What should my Hatsu be?" we don't even know what kind of art you make! watch other people and look at their workflowMy ideal one is >Thumbnails (finding basic composition)>sketching>Finding the value hierarchy >Finding the color hierarchy>line art>flat colors>renderingAll while checking if what I want to communicate is still there. But I get undisciplined sometimes and want to rock and roll so I make a sketch paint from there and spend more time trying to correct mistakes I made from rushing the beginning more than anything.

>>7722933This isn’t your blog, faggot.
>>77227081. make a finished picture by any means necessary while writing down your steps2. Think if any steps could be simplified3. Ask for critique and add steps that would allow you to avoid mistakes you've made4. Go back to step 1 while keeping in mind what you've learned in steps 2 and 3Literally that simple.
>>7722708Here's one recommended by Peter Han in his Dynamic Sketching course.
How do you draw/render a good back when everyone's back seems to look wildly different IRL? When trying to look at real-world reference photos I can barely tell muscles apart from each other when they're small, it looks like everyone had noticeably different should blade shapes and definition, and it seems like when the back gets muscular enough it just hides everything that has to do with the shoulder blades entirely, and there's a bunch of overlap between groups
>>7722176Is using X/Twitter even matter nowadays?I'm a beginner comic artist doing R-18 doujin and sell them on DLsite & Melonbooks.I've made 1 ero-doujin so far, it's sold 500 downloads in 3 months. Not much.I'm thinking of opening a Xitter account for marketing purpose and building interests for my next works. My plan is posting teasers of my current doujin I'm working on, writing things like "Frieren goblin gangbang doujin—release date: Jan 2025." to rack up exposure.Would have social media in 2025 as a new artist just spin my wheels?
How do you start a figure drawing
>>7723284I always start with the head
>>7723209Use the sites where potential audience are. You can use many sites. Different peope use different sites.
how do I make perfect graphic symbols like this?
I'm a self taught gamedev and I need an advice on software picking for 2D stuff. I used to draw with Krita a few years ago and got back to drawing recently with pencils and paper but now I want to try digital painting and since (as a gamedev) I'm planning on doing texture work/photo editing and stuff like that (for textures), I was wondering if I was better off learning Photoshop right now or stick to Krita?
>>7722180It’s not REQUIRED for 3D modeling, but knowing how to draw does help a lot.
>>7722180Absolutely yes. Anatomy for example is mandatory for you to learn as well as shape blocking if you want your sculpts to look good.
>>7723720Personally I don't want to depend on anything that is paid and also Adobe may or may not be training AI with your art, so my advice is to stick to Krita and/or Inkscape
How do I make money off of english porn manga? What about original oneshots? Reading >>7723209, I'll check out DLsite and Melonbooks but aren't these just for japanese text?
where can I get on action poses? figure drawing packs are so uncanny with their pose selection and can rarely do anything with them that looks cool
Best way to mask my artstyle? My friends browse 4chan but I want to draw weird porn on /d/ without them knowing it's me.
does anyone know the name of this artist who used to post on /ic/?they got really really good at figures, and mostly paint portraits, primarily of pretty white females with fantasy/galaxy themes, and iridescent sheen to everything. they're popular on tumblr/social media now I believe.I could be completely wrong but I think their name started with something like sydney or samantha.
>>7723899nevermind, remembered their namesyd mills / vetyr / vetyyr
