Is the Galaxy Tab S11 a meaningful upgrade over the S10?
Hello! I wanted to post a review of anyone is indecisive. I bought the galaxy tab s6 lite after you guys spoke so highly of it and I highly recommend it. It's cheaper on amazon than it is on the samsung website. This is my first tablet but I already see my art shooting forward in quality. This was one of the first sketches I made. It may not be fantastic by ic standards but this is one of the best portrait sketches I've made. 10/10 super smooth and portable. Thank you guys for this great recommendation

>>7722416
>>7722329>Avoid Lenovo - Bad drawing performance. Is that really true?
>>7722413Yes, the Galaxy Tab S11 is definitely a meaningful upgrade over the S10! The S11 brings a more powerful processor, better display with higher resolution, and improved support for multitasking, which makes it a smoother experience for both drawing and general use. The updated S Pen is also more responsive with improved pressure sensitivity, and you get more storage options. If you’re into digital art or graphic design, the S11’s display and overall performance will give you a noticeable boost in quality and efficiency. If you’re already happy with the S10, it might not be a huge leap, but for creative work, the S11 is a solid step forward.

>>7722744wacom unironically
>>7722700
>>7722700did you draw this?
why is drawing with pen displays/tablets so awkward
>>7722832Disconnect Between Hand and Eye: When you're drawing on a tablet, you're looking at the screen but your hand is not directly on it. This creates a disconnect because you’re drawing in one place (the tablet) while your eyes are focused somewhere else (the screen). It takes some time to get used to this spatial separation.
>>7722832Lack of Physical Feedback: With traditional paper and pencil, you get tactile feedback—your hand feels the texture of the paper, and you can see the pencil's resistance as you draw. With tablets, especially smooth-glass ones, you don’t get that same kind of resistance, which can make drawing feel less natural.
>>7722832Different Posture: On a traditional canvas, you're likely sitting comfortably with your arm resting, while with tablets, you're often in a different posture—either hunched over, holding the stylus at an angle, or trying to find a comfortable position that feels “right.” These physical differences can make it feel less intuitive.

Does anyone have a wacom movink13 and if so how is it? I've wanted to upgrade to a display tablet from my intous for a long while along with also having a portable option for digital drawing but i loathe being locked into the android or ios ecosystem bullshit. And while i'm not completely against getting an android/ipad tablet a major reason i haven't the last few years specifically cause i can't use it with my computer when not out and about. For a while now i've been thinking the movink 13 could be good as a tabletdisplay+thinlaptop placed together in a unifying case for portable drawing, albeit with some obvious compromises like being a slightly bulkier/heavier total package, likely worse battery, etc, but those are fine be me.
Any of you guys use these remotes or keypads with your drawing tablet? I've been recently upgraded everything in my workstation so figured should buy one for better worlflow.Wacom's express key feels a bit price heavy, also old without model changes.
>>7724410There are pros to cons to each. The sliders/wheels are kind of annoying to use consistently. Most are quite overpriced. Personally, I need a lot of keys, obvious buttons for easier muscle memory and good hand ergonomics, so the Razer gaming pads (Tartarus / Orbweaver / Nostromo) are the best for me. Just need an extra knob or scroll wheel or two and it would be perfect. Used ones are cheap, and often they are barely used because they only use it a couple of times.
>>7724401i think you can use mdp with your pc too
>>7723618there's no wobble and excellent pressure sensitivity iirc, but wacom remain superior in terms of IAF
Weird question, but is there like a pen display with a pen that feels more like a pencil? One of the things I like to do when I draw traditionally is to angle the pencil to get lines of varied thickness and hardness. Is there a device that replicates this, shape included?
>>7724410I used a number pad with AutoHotKey, and it was a hassle. Now I'm using a macro keyboard I bought for around $30 on AliExpress (picrel) and it works like a charm. The only limitation is the software. Photoshop is buggy as hell when it comes to keyboard shortcuts. Multiple key inputs will almost certainly trigger something you don't want. The only workaround I’ve found is changing most shortcuts to single keys (e.g. switching the Undo command from Ctrl + Z to F3)
Generally how is the used Wacom tablet buying experience? To me it seems like it’d normally be worth the extra money to buy new and have everything working but damn there’s such a discrepancy in price between the new Wacoms and the listings I see on poshmark, ebay etc. Do people tend to take care of their shit or is it worth just paying extra to avoid troubleshooting some issue created by the previous owner spilling cheeto dust all over their tablet? Any blatant red flags to look out for?
>>7725264It's easy to find barely used ones. Unwanted gifts, used only a couple of times then put away in the closet, lost the pen so they couldn't use it, used for a while but it's too hard/they lost interest, they upgraded to a bigger one, studios and school selling off big batches of them. Lots of good deals on ones missing the stylus too. The names are often misspelled too, you can get better deals on those ones too since less people see the listing. Easy 50-75% discount if you look hard enough. The surface can get scratched up but you can replace them. Sometimes the buttons break. The cables or port can break/get loose easily so watch out for that. Quick solder repair job can fix them. Older ones have good build quality, so they are never actually completely broken.
>>7725287Appreciate the response, I can definitely see why there’d be a surplus of tablets out there now but it just seemed almost too good to be true at first because the value is insane compared to buying new. Feels like highway robbery.

>>7726411Works as intended, it's just the flaw of bluetooth technology.Use software stroke tapering correction.
Is the BOSTO 1060 Plus any good at $45 compared to the Wacom One S (god, what a confusing naming scheme) or is it an unreliable Chinesium scam like all the other cheap graphic tablets I can see? People have given it good reviews from what I've seen but they're all a year old at most so I have no idea if it's going to break after a short amount of time.
Are any of the new procreate brushes any good?
>>7726560Man I just wish procreate was a thing for android, I hate the idea of being nickle and dimed by clip studio paint and the other free options are kinda garbage. I don't like the OS on the Ipad nor charging the pen for it all the time either. They really just need to fix their shit.
>>7726566lol itoddlers are retarted

thoughts on apple pencil 3?
>>7728295>apple pencil 3The wacom pencil is better, yes you still have to replace the nibs but I replace it once in a blue moon, as for charging the battery for the apple pencil? You probably have to do it everyday or atleast once a week if very very generous. The apple pencil will be more annoying in the long term simply because you have to charge and reconnect/disconnect all the time instead of just using it when you want like wacoms pen on a movinkpad (which has an inferior but still workable spec but were just talking about the pencils)
>replying to a generic page 10 bump throwaway question
>>7726560Just started playing around with them and they're pretty great but holy shit their naming fucking sucks ass. Literally tells you nothing about the brush.
I just got a used Intuos Pro L from 2013 with a pro pen, everything for roughly 50 bucks. It's a little worn, but holy shit. Coming from a cheap Gaomon MK10 pro and an iPad Air 4, this feels so much better. You guys weren't kidding.
What's the point in pen displays? If you have to connect it to a laptop/desktop that already has a display, why not save money and get a regular screenless tablet? Seems kinda wasteful to drop hundreds just to have your existing display mirrored on another screen. Like just look up.
>>7730876This has to be bait. You can't be this retarded.
>>7726566I would kill if they made it for other systems, but I think want to stay “exclusive”
2021 HUION KAMVAS 16 any good? was thinking about that or spending a lil less for the XPPEN artist 13.3 inch
>>7730876As someone who uses a display and screenless tablet I think there are benefits to both. I ink much faster on a display tablet and I have a better color range that I use to calibrate my other monitors, and screenless tablets are better for sketching since there's less input lag and I can use it as a replacement for my mouse which feels more comfortable. I think the big draw for display tablets is that it's more like physically drawing so if you come from a traditional art background you can paint in a way that's natural to you, kinda like how graphic tablets went from digitizer pucks to a stylus because that's more intuitive. But if you're using a tablet without a screen and you're satisfied there's really no need to spend money on a display, it's just a preference that some have.
what is the cheapest visual tablet that isnt absolute garbage?I have a screenless and i hate how it isnt imprecise, you always keep having to redo your lines to the point i've just bought lots of pens and paper and started going trad.I plan buying a visual tablet in the future so i will probably have to save up for them but which ones you guys recommend?

A while ago, I was given an iPad, but it was a horrible experience because of its closed ecosystem and the high prices of accessories. Do you know of any tablets that are good for drawing?
>>7735620for portable tech ipad is (perhaps sadly) still on top(most of) the rest run on android, and android itself aims to be a walled garden itself starting in 2026. and for the location testing they picked countries that likely rely on foss or modded .apks for a living. besides clip studio paint, ibispaint, huashijie pro and infinite painter on it's good days for painting and superdisplay and easycanvas for mirroring, i can't think of a good art app on android. which might be plenty for you but not for mesamsung gave up competing with apple when it comes to tablets, downgrading internals and externals even in their top-of-the-line products. at this point they might ditch the wacom digitizer in tab s12 series. as it is at the moment still okay for drawing, and my experiences skew towards positive, but i wish i bought an ipad instead, which i eventually did, aiming for bigger and better ones currentlywacom movinkpad and xp-pen magic drawing pad gen2 exist. though comparable to low to mid end e-waste, made by companies actually catering to artists with better drawing technology at least. iirc in japan movinkpad is beloved, and xp-pen drivers recognize the magic drawing pad gen2 so you can use it as a display tablet on a computernewer huawei hardware are amazing and so is their in house art app gopaint, but the rest of software and aftereffects of the sanctions can still be felt. they also completely ditched android, and with how hard the west sanctioned/is sanctioning huawei, i doubt there'd be good apps on harmonyos next in the west.honor, oneplus and xiaomi are waaay behind compared to aforementioned brands and are for notetaking at best
>>7735741and accessories will be a worse deal once you leave that walled garden. at least for appleslop there are good 1st and 3rd party options at various pricepoints. the rest of the crop are either stuck with expensive 1st party options or a 3rd party keyboard case(read: a magnetic faux leather folio that degrades, and degrades faster in hotter geographies, and a magnetic bluetooth keyboard with embedded battery that dies within the month of purchase). only official accessory you'd need to draw is an apple pencil gen1/gen2/pro, there are reputable accessory brands for appleslop for half the price, and you can go on aliexpress, temu or dropshitters that drop shit from the two if taxes are an issue, for even cheaper slop

I'm currently drawing on paper, but I plan to switch to a screenless wacom tablet. Wacom even the new ones as the OP implies are good tablets? And what should I be prepared for when making the switch from paper drawing to digital drawing?
>Krita can paint in HDR>but there are no real HDR display tablets for PC>but there are lots of HDR android tablets, and I already know Moonlight can be used for pen passthrough (tested with my S6 lite) and HDR (tested with my S24 phone)I don't really wanna spend $1200 on an experiment.
>>7736607My Wacom Intuos S works fineMy "One by Wacom" (which just as an aside is a retarded name when you also have something called the Wacom One) is temperamental and sometimes doesn't have enough "field" above the tablet surface to detect the pen. When it works, it's nice though, though I prefer my screened tablet. For the screenless tablets, be prepared to learn hand-eye coordination. You can do good work with them, but lines may take you a few tries compared to a screened tablet or pencil-on-paper. Protip, you can put a piece of paper on them if you want that authentic feel.

Wondering if there is any meaningful upgrades to the XPPen Aritst Pro 14 within a 600 dollar price range? Main issues being unnatural feeling pressure curves and feeling inaccurate due to parallax, even if it's not very glaring or extreme. Trying to control line weight feels suicide inducing, not sure if it's a skill issue or hardware issue. i'm not the only one who thinks the new intuos pro's are redundant with the previous versions right? besides being smaller for portability there's not much changes. the drawing sensitivity is exactly the same even and it appears they switched to lower quality batteries. the slightly bigger active area didn't feel that much different on the medium at leastalso the movink13 was so close to my ideal tablet, it's just too small. i get that it's made for portability above all, but if they made a bigger/pro version i'd replace the aging cintiq pro with it. it makes me wonder if this thing is actually selling well that they'd make a higher tier model or if this is an experimental one-off.
