i dont know how to improve anymore, i feel like ive stagnated and any drawing or painting i make feels like reinforcing what i know already instead of making me grow. where should i go from here?pic rel is where im currently at
>>7726336Move outside of your comfort zones. You probably feel stagnat because you're doing the same stuff over and over and you're bored. Can you paint action sequences? Can you set up scenes in multiple perspectives? Can you paint machinery? Weapons? Two characters interacting? What about five? Can you paint an interesting landscape or urban environment? Can you tell a story with your pictures?Get creative, there's a lot of shite to learn and a lot of ways to push yourself.
>>7726339i cant do any of those and i rarely try to make anything complex considering i cant make simple things good (as you can see from the image i attached). in my mind its like this>when im really good at drawing the basic stuff, i can do more complexwhich makes sense, right? but i cant seem to get even simple stuff right. well, not really simple, i mean like human figures in simple poses. its a simple pose but the human figure itself is complex. i dont know, im just frustrated with my skill level and non existent progress
>>7726343You need to break the mold. A good thing to get better at drawing 3d objects is using machinery as references or simply draw from life. Photos are just not the same.
>>7726336What your goal? The more specific the better. Medium, style, genre, subject matter etc. Once you have clear vision to work towards, the steps to reach closer to that goal become much more obvious.
>>7726343You're thinking too linearly about how progress works. You have to push outside of what you're already comfortable with by applying what you've learned to more and more difficult tasks. The logic of learning simple things is fine, but you need to apply those things to more complex work in order to grow out of it; you learn a lot more in the application than you would trying to perfect things in a vacuum.
If you feel you've stagnated you could try and carry something to a full finish. Everything you've posted is fine as quick studies or sketches but it's severely lacking polish and appeal. Everything is very messy. Go on, try and make something as appealing as you can.
