What does /ic/ think of my latest work?

Made this last week after not drawing for about a month.

I do recognize that something is off with the gesture and colors, but I would like for someone to describe what exactly makes it look off and how I can improve. Looking for any critique beyond just gesture and color of course.

If you think it is slop, tell me why you think so.

Glad to hear you coming out of hiatus! I'm not exactly a pro myself but I can point out a few things, the first thing that I notice is the lack of form and perspective - the only things that suggest depth are the right leg and arm, without those she might as well be a sheet of paper, where ideally you would want the whole body to point towards depth. Starting with a cube or a rectangle you can get an idea on how to incorporate her body into a more visually appealing angle like pic rel. @least having the head at a 3/4ths angle would do a lot of work already.

And just personally? When you hide the hands and feet it makes it come off like you're running away from them, cause I've done the same before, then for each one of them, you lose an element of the subject's character and it ends up looking that much more boring. Not a rule, obviously. But there's nothing in your pic saying she can't have her hand running a couple fingers under her leggings or doing something of intrigue. Just my opinion.

Hope this helps or whatever, breast of luck on your journey. Good work on the hair btw, the values are very cohesive.

the actual image itself is very simple and crude, but your line-work is VERY good. you could make good money as an inker if you wanted to. you've got line weight variation that isn't jittery or uneven. i got filtered hard by pen pressure and now i do pixel art and blender.

Hii, I love your character and think it has a lot of potential :3

I'm just a studient at the moment and not a profesional at all but if you asked me the posture is too rigid and kind of unnatural and and with the colors, the blue really crashes with the whole pallette, I'd replace it with more purple and I'd make the purple a little less saturated and darker.

Try not to hide the hands I know they're kind of scary to draw but if you never draw them you won't learn how to, and it feels a little unconfortable (I struggle with hads too, they're a nightmare T-T).

Also, you could try to put color in your lineart, I think it would really upgrade your drawings.

Hope this helps and good luck! :]

Btw english is my second language so sorry if I have bad grammar.
