ITT post the most underappreciated part of art, the humble compositionI'm a weeb so I love these types of dynamic shonen scenes but feel free to post any types of compositions you find pleasing
>>7732829dutch angle fish eye trash artists use to hide how bad their art is. its like render fags. also, weeb posting should be a ban. a team of people drew and colored it. "artist" did 2 character sketches and sent it off to like 5 assistants to finish, tone, color, etc. lot also just photoshop the perspective distortion.
>>7732862This is a composition thread, not a perspective thread, begone
>>7732862also i'm trans btw. don't know if that matters...
>>7732865the forced perspective is part of the composition retard. thats why weebs deserve death camps.
>>7732891>tfw Japanes people learn fundies praised by westerners and create beautiful art with it>it's now bad o algokeklearn to make & appreciate beautiful art or get out of this thread.
>>7732895>>7732895That image is kino.
>>7732898agreed, it goes so hard every time I see it.
if you wanna draw comics/manga, you should be maxxing out your composition skills.
>>7732907
>>7732907It's one of, if not the, hardest aspects of drawing.
>>7732907trvke. it's much more of an actual fundie than many other things pushed here.
>>7732915What are some fake fundies?
>>7732916Aura
>>7732916here anon, there is even a snopes fact checked list >>7724487 for you.
>>7732833>>7732835These are the only ones I actually like as actual stand alone pieces rather than, "oh that's neat for an advertisement". The composition tells a story rather than just showing off cool characters doing rule of cool poses
>>7732949>tells a storyit's a buzzword more than anything else. usually means "I can grasp the explicitly coded story more easily so I like it more". creating/conveying a mood with composition is the fundie in illustration for stories.
>>7732891This is the composition in the OP image, the perspective barely factors into it
>>7732907How?
>>7732919hi retard
>>7732958Then I guess more correctly I value the fact that the compositional elements of >>7732835 and >>7732833 encourage you to take in all of the image and lend themselves to images with more environmental detail over images like >>7732829 which is focused on directing you to the two characters and subordinating the everything else
>>7732986Read pic related, it should get you on the right track.
>>7733174That's a book for gaijins though. How do Japanese craftmans learn composition?
>>7732986Literally just steal. I listened to this lady who did the camera work for the big emotional scenes in recent Disney movies, and she fully admitted to taking compositions from TV shows she's watching. Not only that, but a supervisor told her to do exactly that.
>>7733179by copying gaijins, usually.
>>7732829If I posted this here, /ic/ would crucify me and redline the shit out of it
>>7733179I fucking hate you.
>>7733180>recent Disney movies
>>7733179>How do Japanese craftmans learn composition?
>>7733179By copying stuff that looks cool like everybody else
>>7733648Thank you, now I just need to find this Roomis Sensei guy the nips keep taking about
>>7733648Is this not leaked anywhere?
>>7732829This is like 90% perspective.
>>7733797it's on the internet archive.
>>7733836Where? I tried serching for “ 絵作りの秘訣” and nothing. Were you lying? You know lying is a sin, right?
>>7733801see >>7732973
>>7733797Anon it's the same book just with moonrunes instead of roman runes...
>>7732829that's godawful composition, you dumb nigger
>>7733889NTA but I think it's quite creative.
>>7733890what's creative about it?
>>7733889Yeah, I thought the same. All it is is extreme perspective and detail, but otherwise there's no meaningful concept underlying it and the bodies look distorted.
>>7734983>meaningful conceptWhat's a meaningful concept in composition?
>>7735199most blend themes, composition, perspective, etc all into general commentary. if you specifically want just steelyard or S/C/L composition discussed, its probably not 'meaningful'. but you can have something yin yang or crucifix shaped or a skull shape making up the values or positioning. there are numerous religious symbolism and conventions to add meaningfully to the composition or that is what most would be referring to. things like finger positions/hand gestures, pointing, or certain colors for clothing/robes or flowers, etc. only autism would ignore these things when discussing the "composition". this isnt an art class where you would argue semantics or pretend not to understand what they mean.
>>7735455Is this >>7732973 not a yin-yang-like composition? They're blue and orange which are opposing colors, one is receding into the background and one is coming into the foreground yet they take up the same space with the same shape to symbolize the fact their worldviews are different yet they're equals in combat, the shapes look like they're forces pulling in opposite directions yet they're connected in the center which also echoes their relationship etc
>>7732916Perspective.>doesn't exist irl>autistic ruleset so you can draw a box>makes work look stiff and lifeless
>>7735458i would consider yin yang very, very specific in shape and theme. that looks more like sasukes boomerang shuriken thing than a yin yang. its a round shape in center of page and perspective radiates out from them at the core of the composition. without the teardrop shapes, i would not refer to anything as a yin yang shape or even implying it. i honestly dont feel like this has any real thought to the composition. they wanted the perspective with both characters and forced it hard. none of the background setting lend to the alleged yin yang design nor help complete the tear drop with dot shapes.
>>7735481So basically it only counts if you like it
