>>7735969What's yours, dickhead?
>>7735982I posted it, dillweed.
>>7735983Well, that's disappointing.
Destiny 1, by bungie.Has concept art has gone to shit in the video game industry?I feel like there are too many powerful 3D tools used by too many mediocre artists and the talent pool has been spread out and diluted.
>>7736018> too many powerful 3D tools Such as? And how would they make the industry shitty?
Western video game art all look the same. They all look like Riot stuff. Disgusting.
>>7735969The GOAT forever. AKIMAN and Bengus da gawds.
>>7736022>Such as? And how would they make the industry shitty?nta but i think its probably how easily you can integrate an entire 3d only workflow on blender to built entire scene off sketchfab or other asset store parts in mere minutes and render it out with lightning and even outlines, needing only some minor overpaintingthis, of course, isnt inherently bad or anything, it's a workflow that stuck for a reason, but within the market pressures of the industry it leads to ever increasing demands for higher output and shorter turnarounds which in turn means that people get hired simply for their ability to pump out things to spec as fast as possible instead of their unique vision
>>7735969the fact that Kinu Nishimura only has one artbook (Code of Princess) then has to share the other books with other Capcom artists kinda feels wrongI want a whole book for each of them like god damn but yeah, Capcom Design Works is the best
>>7736878alternatively, I nominate MH Illustrations 1-3I've practically burned 1 into my retinas I love it so much
>>7736825hmm that makes sense. no wonder I'm not impressed with any art direction these days.
