Do I have to learn to draw still life if I don't intend on drawing anything more than 2D characters? Learning to copy the 3D space I see in front of me is a lot harder than copying what I see on my monitor.
you have to draw yourself in the act of rutting a BBW to learn motion, anatomy, perspective etc
>>7736539stiff life is honestly easier to grasp than characters, and its suppose to isolate certain practices like observations and angle measurement and relative measurements without having to compete with the "human in your head" effects.
>>7736539>if I don't intend on drawing anything more than 2D characters?Well, I'd say that 2D characters should be thought of, in a 3D way, but nah - you don't need to draw still life to draw cartoons. The issue that stems from this, is what if you're ambitions grow? You'll have stunted yourself, but that's tomorrow's problem, I suppose.
>>7736539depends on if you want your pictures to look static and lifeless or not
>>7736539I used to tell people to start with the drawing fundamentals courses, but seeing how many people mindbreak themselves I'm trying a new tack. Id recommend starting with the thing you want to do. Just enjoy drawing the cartoons you want. If you get to a point where you'll need more technical training you'll know it, but enjoying yourself is more important now
