Hi /ic/, I made this colored sketch today and decided to try some shading instead of just using flat base colors. I focused on shading the gold parts of her clothing, does it look good, or does it just look like piss?
Sorry me and everyone else is busy in argumentative threads which are the best part of the board. It lacks values and transitions even if the lighting placement is correct.

As the other anon said, the general placement of your lights and darks is consistent but the contrast between base color and your darks is very low, this way it looks more like dirt than actual metal.Try to use this reference to have a general idea of the value range you can get from metal textures, it is not skin which has mostly diffused soft shades, very high contrast as in those sargent 3/4 portraits.

Experiment with layer modes like Vivid Light or Color Dodge to make it shiny. Use the Fill and Opacity sliders to adjust their brightness.
I know this is not the question, but the highlights look a bit weird on the body. That being said, I don't know how to make good highlights and would request some resources for making good highlights
