how do i draw with OCPD? any psychologist artfags here? it truly feels impossible.
easy, you prompt
>>7741098i tried ai stuff and i would spend like 12 hours generating the same girl over and over. i had stayed up 48 hours generating ai girls and jerking off before. it really wasn't healthy for me. but anyway i wanna actually draw now but it's pretty dang hard.
Iād recommend switching to vectors or 3d modelling. Moving handles around should be less triggering than messy nature of raster brushes.
>>7741100but modeling sounds boring... i wanna draw :(
>>7741103How about you try it first you fucking cripple
>>7741111quads checked but i did try blender for a few months in the past, it definitely wasn't for me.
>>7741096>OCPDnow that you are diagnosed, you can now pick any drawing manual, stick to that drawing manual, then draw!
>>7741114i can't even pick a drawing manual. i pick one and i immediately feel like i'm wasting my time and i could find a better one and go back to searching for stuff.
>>7741096>OCPDSo how is that impacting your drawing?Getting started with drawing usually works fine if you're just doing mindless doodling and having fun, but if you want to draw like artists you look up to, it's going to be really hard, regardless of what other issues you're struggling with.
>>7741117There is no perfect drawing manual that'll magically make you a good artist if you follow it closely enough. It's about putting in the time and work and having some guidance to help you try out different things. You can read a few pages from one manual, follow it a bit, then try another, but ideally, you'll spend most of your time drawing, looking at references (whether photo or life) and drawing even more. What do you even want to draw? Have you tried drawing it? What are your results? See anything that bothers you? Fix gradually, try drawing easier things and don't think you need to do everything at once, it's a process.
>>7741158>What do you even want to draw? Have you tried drawing it? What are your results?i wanna draw hot females and i guess animals. my results are hundreds of figure drawings and other stuff that show zero improvement.
>>7741096I have OCD which ik is different, but both diagnoses have that aspect of overthinking yourself into doing absolutely nothing new. The way I do it is by just doing it, as with all anxiety-based issues. You stop yourself because your mind sends you tons of false flags: "what if I never improve? What if my style isnt within my control and looks stupid? How long does this take? What if I never pick it up and all of this is a waste of time?"And then thats the spiral right there. You need to remind yourself that that's literally just your brain sending false flags because its chemically overactive. Just acknowledge those thoughts, but do it anyway. Allow yourself to draw shitty art. Even if its one figure drawing or anime trace per week, per month. In order to start, you have to dick around a LOT and learn to enjoy the process.
>>7741096>OCPDnew Howie buzzword just dropped
You could try perspective heavy drawing. There's more of a "do this and it just comes out right" aspect to it that might be more pleasing than the objectivity and interpretation of other styles
>>7741096howie's it going, froganon?
>>7741096Most of the Howie thread posts are really asking for a psychiatrist
