What's some random art from childhood that stuck in your memory for some reason?
>>7741210I'm not going to help train your retro nostalgic AI with my childhood memories.
>>7741210Tiamat from D&D cartoon.
alot of trad videogame box art is absolute kino. nowadays even more than back then.
>>7741431this whole thread could be graeme base
>>7741454Nice cover. Sadly I don't think people care about box art as much anymore.
my mom had this and I found the cover extremely mesmerizing as a kid.
Mario's art direction peaked here. Yes, I'm old.
>>7741210If we're talking about more than images, the kids show Button Moon is something that often pops up in my head not just for it's visuals, but as an auditory experience as well.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG8ySewB0mQ
this one cover from a game magazine
Our Universe by Roy A Gallant. I loved this book when I was little, all of the artwork was great but the paintings of fictional aliens by Michael Whelan really stuck in my head
>>7742010I've been trying to find this for a while. Thank you, anon.
>>7741210Random food packaging pieces that you liked as a kid.Wizz Fizz had all these goofy ugly faces, akin to what you'd find in courage the cowardly dog.
>>7742131Do any candies still have freaky art like this or are those days over?
>>7741276This is sick.
the episode title cards for Ed Edd n Eddy
>>7742147always found them a bit creepy
I miss the 90s, bros.
>>7742151The artist for Animimorphs has that same style to this day. He's open for commissions, but when I asked him for my D&D group i think it was 5k or something.
>>7742142Not that I can think of? Even Wizz Fizz replaced those great faces with these really lame, overly clean or vectorised, sort of cute looking creatures. All the tooth was taken out - I wonder which children actually prefer? The fun Gross out packaging, or the overly clean and bland modern packaging? Maybe I'm just biased?Maybe we only like gross out stuff because of nostalgia.
>>7741957that era was great, but I also loved the mid-90's mario stuff. Yoshi's Island was so good in terms of art.
>>7742199Every level in this game was a work of literal art.
>>7742152$5k is nothing for that.
Dinotopia. I can't think of any fictional world that had more of an impact on my childhood. I still to this day read those books and just wish I could live in them.
>>7742467On a separate note, there was an artist who was fairly popular not too long ago, who was known for drawing witches and dinosaurs hanging out. Anyone know who I'm talking about? They still active?
>>7741210My mom used to read me a book called "Monster Mama" as a kid. The art was always terrifying but I couldn't help but be intrigued by the visceral feel of the watercolors. Found out years later that it was the same guy who illustrated "scary stories to tell in the dark"
>>7742459I agree, but I'm not a $5k client im a $1300 client tops.

>>7743362Yeah. This chick is hot.
>>77421511980-2005 was the peak of human civilization. It's all downhill from here. Things will literally never be that good again.
>>7743377Death is a hot mistress
>>7743388Man, the original sonic design was so good and appealing, with its rounder ball & hose design. It's legitimately one of the best, possibly the best, character designs out there - it's what carried the series to success in my opinion, along with its general visual design (just look at all that cool stylish geometric shit the games are doing in the backgrounds). Why the fuck did they go with the edgier, more bland look they do now?Hell, even the music from the original games was a step above what they do now.
>>7743388We literally had no idea how good we had it. Nostalgia is not a good feeling, it's an oppressive, crushing anchor on the soul. My only solace is that maybe, someday, before I'm dead, the small hats will finally meet retribution for what they've done
Always a fan of earthworm Jim
I still draw horses like this itβs stupid.
>>7743622I wish horses looked like that; if they did, less women would probably be obsessed with them, and it'd actually be cool to know how to ride a horse.
>>7741210Had it not been for this album and the Feel Good Inc music video I probably wouldn't have gotten into art.
>>7742467I fucking love Dinotopia. Blew my mind when I originally watched the show and it just felt different compared to everything else at the time
>>7743668Gorillaz art in general is such a W
>>7741210RK Post's art in Magic: the GatheringI don't like him anymore
>>7743668I randomly sat down infront of this artist (totally wiffing on his name atm) before a job interview. I went up to the desk to sign my name on the guest list and I recognized the name just above mine, I said it out loud as I tried to remember where I knew the name from and I caught eyes with the receptionist who gave me a weird look. I then sat down and opposite me was some guy with grey hair reading a magazine... I googled the guy's name in images while slyly tring to get a good look at him, sure enough image results matched up with the dude sitting across from me.I later found out he knows basically everyone in the studios around town and my friend told me he randomly showed up at their office parties high as a kite and smoke with fellow artists.
>>7743900why don't you like him anymore??
>>7744414His work is very fantastical and that stuck with me but he's very much a commercial fantasy artist. There isn't much beneath the picture. He also got more and more sterile over time, and I only like his old work.
Still I owe him a lot. He's one of the artists that made me start drawing.
Also worth mentioning Brom the GOAT of MTG art. Unlike RK Post who's now drawing literal Rick & Morty meme MTG tokens Brom went more into fine art and stayed cool.
