>crabbing bougerou, a traditionally trained old master
no, fag
it was made in 1896, cameras were dogshit
>inb4 muh camera obscura
>inb4 muh picture plane
you are retarded. if you ever tried these methods its so fucking painfully slow and methodical, that you basically be able to both observe and understand the figure at a deep fundamental anyway to get an accurate drawing

even if you place a beginner to copy a photograph using the grid method they would still fail because their tiny fuckups will still end up with an overall shitty drawing
every time i keep seeing this ngmi attitude that realistic= traced by permabeg newfag tourists who dont know anything about observational drawing

No living artists today can teach his methods because despite Bouguereau being inept at drawing compared to renaissance masters, he is lightyears better at drawing and painting than all of the "top" natural realism painters today. He is closer to Sargent in his optical methods with slight design using neoclassical proportions. He used live models to do many drawing studies to get the figure, proportions, anatomy and lighting down and would then move onto quick painting studies.

Also, why would you want to draw like him? He doesnt have much to say in terms of the art world that preceded him and his work amounts to "pretty" paintings of hot nude french girls as did all other work during and after the 18th century.

why do you want to draw this? it's already been drawn

because that's exactly just what I want to do. I don't care about gay messages or whatever, I want to draw sexy realistic women
>>

>draw woman atop sheet of glass
>draw sand and water underneath
>>
>>7752723
Lol nice cope. Modern tards cant fathom you could just learn this by endless model drawing with proper instruction.
>>
>>7752719
You can draw it, but getting the layers of temperature and chroma in that skin is impossible outside of oil paint.
Like this guy says >>7752749
you probably don't wanna draw like Bouguereau you want to paint like him.
>>7752778
Go to an atelier then, protip: They will just teach you how to draw realistic ugly obese black women but in theory they will teach you the required skills needed to draw hot women if you pick out the models yourself next time.

>getting the layers of temperature and chroma in that skin is impossible outside of oil paint.
Even digitally? Shouldn't you be able to represent anything?
>t. never painted
>>
>>7752719
thats literally a man
>>
you cant draw this but you could try paint it
>>
>>7752723
how do you trace color? How do they add those random splotches of pale or green on their skin without manually putting each one? There has to be a trick
>>
>>7752986
>how do you trace color?
Ask Vermeer

>>
>>7752986
you actually can sort of trace color, they used camera lucida for that
you still need to be able to mix the paint, though
>>
Try starting with a grisaille or verdaccio, then build up undertones with glazing, painting from dark to light. As white will naturally be somewhat opaque, you'll have more transparent shadows than lights. Easier said than done, but I want to see more artists paint like they're in love with it like he did.

Name one instructor who is good enough to teach you how to paint like Boug. Pro tip, you cant.

>>7752778
Why do you want to paint realistic women? For money? You can make more money drawing anime booba and it will take you a fraction of the time to learn.
>>
>>7752719
this makes me appreciate white skin

It's a very realistic style. So you want to go in that direction. But there is a nuance of expressivenesss to it. So you want to read this book

You can't. To draw like this you need a lifetime of practice and intelligence.
The mere fact that you have to ask a question like this proves you lack at least the second attribute.
