I really don't see much wrong with this. Maybe because I actually have experience drawing and writing comics, but behaving like comic panels are full blown illustrations is so fucking retarded. The fact something like this has this amount of detail and transmit the emotion so well is pretty good. what people are complaining about here anyway? that is a ugly cry? is not the point?Anyway, kinda reminds me when people take a singular frame of an animation and point out the character right in the background really zoom in has not complete features and is not detailed as possible or they find a scene with some stretching and clearly don't understand that is the point, I honestly don't know how you end up this daft about this sorta of thing, you should be able to understand instinctively why is done that way. It's those overly detailed, uneven too small teeth on an stylized somewhat simplified prettyboy anime head. It's almost like one of the "grossup" shots in american kids cartoons that zoom in on a character's most unpleasant feature and exaggerate it to a comical degree.

Manga's start was bit rough because of the author's skill level but what it lacked in art execution it made up in subject and content. Manga did have these small tidbits and lore at the start of some chapters but I think anime covered them too in eyecatches.Of course manga is faster to read so if you have to allocate your time efficently, read it. I recommend however watching the anime openings.
